Airline "Rusline" Rusline Airlines Whose company is Rusline Airlines

The time is long gone when transportation across the expanses of the Russian sky was carried out by aircraft exclusively from Russian manufacturers. And there is nothing wrong with that: times have changed, and so have the requirements for passenger transportation. Various foreign companies offer their aircraft products, which differ in technological parameters. And the passenger is given the right to choose: what to fly with?

One of such aircraft that is mastering the skies of Russia is the CRJ200.

History of creation

The appearance of aircraft of this class dates back to 1976. Then Canadair acquired the rights to develop its Challenger from LearJet. The project to increase the length of the fuselage for greater passenger capacity to 24 seats was called the Challenger 610E.

But the project was not completed, and its development was postponed until 1981. Although the very idea of increasing passenger capacity was not forgotten.

And in 1987, a program was launched to design an enlarged aircraft, which by the spring of 1989 made it possible to approach the creation of Canadair Regional Jet regional aircraft. They decided to keep the name of the Canadair aircraft, although the company itself was purchased by the Canadian company Bombardier.

And already in 1991, three experimental CRJ-100 aircraft were created. Their first flight tests were carried out in May 1991.

Modernization

In order to expand the capabilities of the CRJ-100, a modification of the Bombardier CRJ-200 is being produced. It is difficult to find visible differences at first glance, since the modernization affected only the power plant.

A common feature of this series of aircraft is a small-diameter fuselage and an elongated body. The aerodynamic qualities of the aircraft are positively influenced by the highly pointed nose of the fuselage.

The overall design follows a low-wing design, with two engines located in the rear section.

CRJ-200 - the aircraft whose photo you see below - serves flights of UTair.

In 1995, more powerful power plants were installed on aircraft of this series, which improved flight characteristics. From this moment on, CRJ-200 (aircraft) was designated in a new way.

It should also be mentioned that there are modifications of the aircraft with an increased number of passengers up to 70 people. For this purpose, two CF34-8C1 turbofan engines with increased thrust of 61.34 kN were installed.

They also increased the area of the horizontal wing, lengthened the landing gear, and installed the wheels themselves with a larger diameter. They didn’t forget to equip the plane with more powerful brakes and larger wing flaps.

The aircraft is designated Regional Jet Series 700/CRJ 700.

The main difference from the CRJ-200 is that the aircraft was equipped with engines of greater power and, accordingly, of different sizes. For this purpose, the wing span was increased to 23.01 m due to the modernization of other winglets.

Flight characteristics

Basic aircraft include the CRJ-100 and CRJ-200. There are also modifications of aircraft that have increased flight range. These are ER (Extended Range) and LR (Long Range). US airlines use aircraft of the CRJ-440 version. This is the same CRJ-200, but with fewer seats to 44.

A typical passenger plane has a capacity of 40-50 people. There are also modifications of the CRJ-200 aircraft, the characteristics of which can be seen in the table below.

According to the manufacturer, this type of aircraft has increased performance characteristics:

  1. Ability to fly in adverse weather conditions.
  2. Possibility of operating the aircraft at high mountain airfields.
  3. The aircraft's cabin capacity has been increased to 50 seats.
  4. The aircraft cabin is equipped with leather seats.
  5. It is easy to convert to either full economy or full business class.
  6. The shelves for hand luggage are spacious - 0.04 cubic meters.
  7. These aircraft have improved characteristics in terms of fuel consumption.

At the moment, one of the most reliable in terms of security is the CRJ-200. The plane, a photo of the interior of which can be seen below, has a number of features.

Interior layout

A diagram of the aircraft can always be seen on the official website of the Utair airline.

The diagram below shows the interior of the CRJ-200 aircraft and its layout.

Passengers board themselves in the front part of the cabin on the left side through the boarding door, which is made in the form of a folding ramp. For safety reasons, the aircraft is equipped with another door for emergency evacuation of passengers.

Comfort zones

It is best to look at the interior of the CRJ-200 and find out the comfort of the seats.

The diagram shows seats (A,B) and (C,D) - sitting here will not be entirely comfortable, and the fault is the partition and the wall of the galley. Because of this, the legroom for passengers in these seats is greatly reduced. The chairs themselves may also seem very uncomfortable due to the fact that the armrests do not recline. To add insult to injury, you will have to look at the wall during the entire flight.

If you take seats in the 7th row, it may be inconvenient that the backs of the seats either do not recline at all or recline at a small angle. This is done because there is an emergency exit from the plane behind the seats. In addition, one of the disadvantages of these places is the lower temperature in the cabin in this zone.

But already the seats in the 8th row are more spacious for placing legs. And this is again connected with the emergency exit area, which is what distinguishes the CRJ-200 cabin. Another inconvenience of these places is that there are no chair armrests near the emergency exit. The air temperature in the area of these seats is cooler than in the entire cabin.

If you pay attention to the seats in the 12th row, then everything here is standard. But their disadvantage is that the noise from running engines is increased.

If you find seats in the 13th row, you will have to put up with the noise of running engines all the way. In addition, the backs of the seats do not recline - they are fixed in one position. Adding to the inconvenience is the sound of the toilet flushing from behind the partition, and passengers are constantly passing through here.

Prospects for replacing the aircraft

Due to the fact that the CRJ-200 jet aircraft operating on Russian airlines are gradually aging, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has been proposed to replace the aging fleet of aircraft with the promising Q400 NextGen turboprops.

This judgment was put forward at the Wings of Russia forum by Bombardier Sales Director for the CIS countries Mark Gilbert. The main argument was that the rental costs for these models are the same, but the Q400 can accommodate more passengers - 86.

Development prospects

According to Canadian researchers, Russia is a promising market for the new Q400. And these aircraft will be needed primarily on regional routes, since in Russia regional routes are characterized by longer distances compared to other countries.

According to the firm's researchers, planes on regional routes in Russia mainly fly over distances of just over 1,000 km. Therefore, the Q400 NextGen turboprop, which is designed for flights of more than 1,000 km, will be a suitable replacement for the CRJ-200. A plane with more capacity will be in better demand on local airlines, according to Mark Gilbert.

According to Bombardier, 82 CRJ-200 aircraft are in operation on airlines in Russia and the CIS countries from companies such as:

  • "RusLine" (16).
  • UTair (12).
  • "Ak Bars Aero" (15).
  • "Yamal" (10).
  • "IrAero" (6).
  • "Severstal" (6).
  • "UTair-Ukraine" (3).
  • Belavia, Belarus (4).
  • Georgian Airways, Georgia (4).
  • SCAT, Kazakhstan (6).

Aircraft construction in Russia

It is planned to build an assembly plant for Q400 Bombardier aircraft in Ulyanovsk in close cooperation with the Rostec corporation. As Gilbert reflects in his interview, despite the slowdown, work to bring this project to life continues. Aircraft of this series will be supplied to Russia and the CIS countries.

Bombardier predicts that about 6,000 aircraft of this series will be delivered by 2033. 460 of them will be supplied to airlines in Russia and the CIS. At the same time, turboprop models will take up more than half of global supplies. And in 2012, they accounted for only 14% of all supplies.

PhosAgro is being updated

It is currently known that the PhosAgro company has entered into an agreement with the Severstal airline for the supply and purchase of two Bombardier CRJ-200 jets with their lease to Severstal. This will make it possible to organize additional flights from Khibiny airport.

This solution allows us to expand flights to Moscow to 5-6 per week. And solves problems with flights to St. Petersburg - up to three per week.

“If we consider that flights to the Northern capital are already operated by Pskov-Avia, flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg will be daily,” this is the opinion expressed by the director of the Khibiny airport, Valentin Babkin.

CRJ-200: reviews of the aircraft

Opinions about the aircraft can be found on the websites of carrier companies and on forums where the advantages and disadvantages of various airliners are discussed.

And there is something to discuss!

Many passengers have already flown on planes from Russian manufacturers TU, IL, AN, etc., but even with such experience behind them, they note that this aircraft is finding its niche in air travel.

Due to its small size, it seems like a baby compared to such a giant as Boeing, but this disadvantage looks like an advantage when passengers notice the fast take-off run and smooth takeoff of the aircraft. The Bombardier CRJ-200 receives the same advantage during landing. He doesn't need long runways.

Yes, of course, passengers are disturbed by the high noise of the engines. But this will not be a disadvantage, especially when flying short distances. Although the flight lasts more than an hour, thanks to the comfortable seats, neither your back nor your neck gets tired.

The seats are also comfortable with plenty of legroom. Boarding and disembarking occurs unusually quickly (capacity is maximum 50 people).

Some people find it strange that it never shook during the entire flight, even though the plane is relatively small. Many also note that their ears did not get blocked either during landing or takeoff. The downside is that the landing gear releases are very loud. But, again, it should be noted that this depends on the seat that the passenger occupies in the aircraft cabin.

In general, this type of airliner is quite suitable for Russian realities, both in terms of flight range and its use on different types of runways.

It operates both international and domestic scheduled passenger flights. For domestic flights, a large fleet of small aircraft is used, 15 of them are Bombardier CRJ 200.

It is worth noting that the Bombardier CRJ 200 is a modern narrow-body jet aircraft. This airliner is capable of operating flights in difficult weather conditions, which is important in the harsh winter conditions of continental Russia. The salon accommodates 50 comfortable leather chairs.

Let's take a closer look at the Bombardier CRJ 200 cabin layout and find out where passengers will feel most comfortable during the flight.

Such a diagram can be viewed on the official website utair.ru. As already noted, the configuration provides for 50 passenger seats in a one-class cabin.

Ask an airline employee for advice

If possible, carefully study the diagram of the airliner you will fly on.

Do not take seats where the seats do not recline or are limited in their ability to do so.

Do not take places near toilets, kitchens and other technical rooms at the very end.

1 rub. places B, A and 2 r. seats D, C - The position of the wall and partition of the galley is such that there may not be much legroom. Folding tables are also inserted into one of the armrests, thereby making it immovable. On top of everything else, it’s not very comfortable to watch the entire flight against a wall.

7 rub. - Behind this row there are emergency exits, because of this circumstance, the backs of the seats do not recline or are very limited in this. It may still be cooler in this row.

8 rub. , seats D, A- Despite the fact that this row is located behind the emergency exit, there is not as much legroom there as in wide-body aircraft. Still, it is there. There is no armrest on the door side and this is another inconvenience. It can be quite cold from the door during the flight.

8 rub. , seats C, B - More legroom than other standard seats.

12 rub. - Standard seats, but it will be noisy from the engines.

13 rub. - The engines also create a lot of noise. In addition, the backs of the seats in these seats do not recline and are fixed. The location of the toilet next to it adds to the picture. Passengers will walk past you and form queues, and the sound of the tank may also cause inconvenience.

A couple of general points about the arrangement of seats in the Bombardier CRJ 200 - their disadvantages and advantages.

1. The seats that are located next to the window have the advantage that you can look out of it during the flight (this, of course, depends on the flight time and weather). If you fly at night, this advantage does not count. Also, your neighbor will not bother you if he wants to get up. These places have one drawback - it is not very convenient to leave it yourself. Therefore, if you don’t need to go to the toilet often or you intend to sleep through the entire flight, choose seats by the window.

2. The seats located near the aisle have their own advantage - it is very easy to get up from if you need to go to the toilet.

The disadvantages are that a neighbor may be disturbed if he needs to get up. Flight attendants with trolleys and passengers who walk through the cabin to the galley and toilets can also interfere. Therefore, if you are flying with a child and, most likely, you will have to go to the toilet often. Or you yourself need to go to the restroom more often, then choose from the edge of the seat.

We hope that this article was useful to you.

If you have ever flown on an airline plane in your life, please share your feedback about the flight.

Clear skies to you, as the pilots say, and a soft landing!

It specializes in both international and domestic scheduled passenger flights. For domestic regional flights, a large fleet of small aircraft is used, of which the Bombardier CRJ-200 is used.

It is worth noting that the Bombardier CRJ-200 is a modern narrow-body jet aircraft. This airliner can operate flights in difficult weather conditions, which is important in the harsh winter conditions of Russia. The salon accommodates 50 comfortable leather chairs.

Let's take a closer look at the Bombardier CRJ-200 cabin layout and figure out where passengers will be most comfortable during the flight.

Such a diagram can be seen on the official Utair website (utair.ru), we will present it in a more convenient version for analysis.

As we have already noted, the configuration provides 50 passenger seats in a single-class cabin.

1st row seats A, B and 2nd row seats C and D. The position of the partition and the wall of the galley is such that there may not be very much legroom. Also, folding tables are built into one of the armrests, thereby making it immovable. Well, on top of that, it’s not very comfortable to look at the wall the entire flight.

7 row. Behind this row there are emergency exits; because of this circumstance, the backs of the seats do not recline or are very limited in this. It can also get a little chilly in this row.

Row 8, seats A and D. Even though this row is located after the emergency exit, there is not as much legroom as in wide-body aircraft. But it still exists. There is no armrest on the door side and this is inconvenient. During the flight it can be very cold from the door.

Row 8, seats B and C. Slightly more legroom compared to other standard seats.

12 row- standard seats, but it will be noisy from running engines.

Row 13. There is a lot of noise from the engines, and the backs of the seats in these places are fixed and do not recline. The location of the toilet nearby completes the picture. Everyone will walk past you and form queues, and the sound of the tank being flushed can also cause inconvenience.

According to passengers, RusLine Airlines has the fastest and most comfortable aircraft in its fleet, which are distinguished by a small cabin and comfortable seats. Since its inception, the carrier has been working to update its fleet, reduce the cost of flights and optimize the official website. Buying tickets for any RusLine planes or checking in online for a flight is a matter of a few minutes. Below we will look at the features of the air fleet, a diagram and photos of airliners, as well as the features of purchasing tickets and online registration on the website.

What aircraft were used at the beginning of the activity?

RusLine is a large airline in the Russian Federation that provides charter and regular flights. The main goal of the work since its inception has been to restore promising route networks within the Russian Federation and CIS countries by organizing flights on small but comfortable aircraft.

The year the operator began its activities is considered to be 1997. Initially, the RusLine airline fleet included aircraft of the YAK-40, YAK-42 and Tu-134 types. VIP flights were also carried out on special airliners. In 2007, the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet aircraft appeared in the RusLine fleet. This was the first experience of using airliners of this brand.

In 2011, regional airliners such as Embraer - 120 appeared in the fleet, and in 2012 - Airbus A-319. Simultaneously with the expansion of the air fleet, new destinations are being added, and the geography of regional and international transportation is expanding. More and more flights to European cities are appearing. Since 2016, a new option has opened on the official RusLine website - passengers have the opportunity to book plane tickets. In the same year, a new platform was launched with adaptation for mobile phones. A mobile application has also been created that gives clients access to many services, including online registration.

RusLine aircraft today

Over the past few years, a lot has changed in the carrier's fleet. Let's look at which RusLine aircraft are used today. There are two types of aircraft used for passenger transportation:

  • CRJ-100 ER/LR- a medium-haul airliner, with a crew of 3-4 people and a capacity of 50 passengers. The maximum flight range is about 3000 km, and the maximum speed is 860 km/h. The number of vessels at the carrier’s disposal is 10.
  • CRJ-200 ER/LR- another RusLine aircraft with similar characteristics. Small differences relate to flight range, engines, takeoff and landing distances. The number of such airliners is 8.

As for other aircraft in the fleet of RusLine airlines (in particular, Yak, Airbus and others), they were gradually withdrawn from service and are not in use today. In addition to the mentioned airliners, the carrier’s fleet has several more aircraft:

  • Bombardier Challenger 850- an airliner for transporting 10 people (VIP).
  • Embraer EMB 120- an aircraft designed for 30 passengers. Quantity - 3 units.

The mentioned RusLine airline planes fly to more than 50 destinations. The base airport is Domodedovo, but additional bases are Roshchino (Tyumen), Koltsovo (Ekaterinburg) and other airports. At the beginning of February, 12 new regular flights appeared in the direction of Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan and other cities of the Russian Federation.
