How to get from Girona to Barcelona. A trip from Girona (airport or city) to Barcelona (El Prat airport or city) - a guide for tourists Girona Spain how to get from Barcelona

I hope my explanations will help you quickly find the information you need about train schedules, ticket prices and spend your time on something more pleasant)) There are several railway companies in Spain, but the main one is RENFE, the trains of this company connect Barcelona with Girona and Figueres.

We go to the page www.renfe.com, unfortunately, there is no Russian language. But almost everyone knows English now, I just wanted to draw your attention to some points.

We start by filling out the table: Departure(where) Barcelona-Sants(Barcelona Sants Station) or Barcelona-passeige de Gracia(Barcelona Passage de Gracia). Later I will return to the stations, now we will find out the schedule and plan expenses)))

Destination(direction) Girona(Girona) or Figueres(Figueres).

I do not recommend buying round-trip tickets. So in Spain there are three different types of trains and by choosing a round trip, you can only return on trains of the same type as you are leaving, thereby limiting yourself in choosing the time of return.

After selecting the date, click Buy(buy). The schedule appears, but we don’t see prices everywhere.

In order to see all the information, click on the right under “TOTAL PRICE: 0.00” on the line in small print: “ use this link to access more purchese option"(follow the link to additional purchase options). We already see the full picture.

You can only purchase tickets for high-speed trains online. They have the abbreviation AVANT or AVE., just those that are the most expensive, but also the fastest. These trains do not stop at Passege de Gracia, as well as at many other small stations. Also keep in mind that Figueres has two train stations (both are equidistant from the Dali Museum). One station is intended only for high-speed trains and is called Figueres-Vilafant. The other two types of trains are analogues of our regional electric trains (regional) stops at every pillar, but the price is never lower, and MD (media distance) is an accelerated electric train, stops less frequently, the price is higher.

But we figured out the schedule. Go! If you go to Barcelona Sant Station, you need to get to the metro station of the same name (there is no underground entrance to the station from the metro). When purchasing, check the departure time or write it on a piece of paper, otherwise they just sell the most expensive tickets. If you are closer to Passege de Gracia, then this is also the metro station of the same name. Going down into the subway, look for the sign Renfe. Another entrance directly to the railway station is located at the intersection of Carrer de Pau Claris and Carrer d'Arado. Tickets for the Passage day of Grassia are available You can buy it only from the vending machine, and there is always a schedule next to it. I hope it helped)

Bon Voyage!))

When you go on holiday to Catalonia (Spain), somewhere on the Costa Brava, you may not spend your entire vacation lying on the beach. After all, this is a region known for its historical and cultural attractions. Firstly, this is Barcelona, with the Gothic quarter, the Cathedral of St. Eulalia, the buildings of the great Gaudi, Ramblas...

Secondly, Girona. Also the capital of the province. Despite the fact that it is a small town, compared to Barcelona, it amazes the traveler with its architectural ensemble and the wealth of medieval buildings and fortresses per square kilometer. Therefore, if you manage to see both of these amazing places, you will only benefit from it.

In this article we will look at different ways to get from Barcelona to Girona on your own, and give advice to tourists regarding the convenience and cheapness of each option.

Automobile

If you have your own or a rented car on vacation, then you will very easily and quickly cope with the Barcelona - Girona route. How to get from one city to another by car? Nothing could be simpler. The distance between both cities along the highway is no more than one hundred kilometers. You take the AP-7 (Mediterranean) highway and within fifty minutes you are near Girona.

To get into the city, take the fourth exit. True, there are toll sections in this direction. Therefore, get ready to shell out nine euros, not counting the cost of gasoline. It is advised to pay in cash and not by card, otherwise you will have problems with your credit card for several days. And if you are not in a hurry, then drive along the free roads along the sea. The views from the car window are simply enchanting.

All roads are in good condition. In addition, Girona has large free parking lots, from where the historic city center can be easily reached on foot in a few minutes.

Train

This is the easiest and probably fastest way to cover the distance between two cities - Barcelona, Girona. How to get there by train? To do this, you need to get to one of Barcelona's train stations - the best one is Passage de Grazia. From there, trains to Girona run almost every thirty minutes or hour, depending on the time of day. The station is underground. To get down to it, you need to get to Passage de Grazia and find the entrance to the station located just in front of this building. When you get underground, you will find signs directing you to Renfe - these are the Spanish railways.

You can also travel from Barcelona Sants or Plaza Catalunya train stations. Girona is not the final station of these trains. To get there, you need to look for the directions “Figueras” and “Port Bo”.

It is best to use medium-distance trains - they are moderate in price and run faster. Electric trains (“serkanyas”) will cost less, but they are not very profitable in terms of time. It takes about an hour to travel by medium-distance train one way, and the journey costs approximately 15 euros. High-speed trains reach there in forty minutes and cost twenty euros. Tickets can be purchased both at the box office and on the Renfe website.

Bus

This type of transport can be used mainly between Barcelona and Girona airports. How to get there by bus from the center To do this you need to use special lines. For example, this is Barcelona Bass. Its flights are often tailored to coincide with Ryanair departures. The bus leaves from Gare du Nord.

Other flights rarely stop at Barcelona. They go straight to El Prat del Llobregat airport. If you still want to travel by bus, there are several flights from the Sagales company from Barcelona. They depart from the Fabre et Puige station.

Recently, Ryanair buses began running from the Northern Station of the Catalan capital to the center of Girona. But at the same time, you need to clarify which of them do not go to the airport - they are all similar.

You can also get there with transfers. First, take a bus to the main station of the Costa Brava - Lloret de Mar. The ALSA carrier goes to this resort town. And from there you have to wait for the flight to Girona.

Where to go from the stations

But now you have already traveled the entire route Barcelona - Girona by public transport. How can you now get to some attractions - in fact, to what you came here for? Nothing could be simpler. Both the bus station and the railway station of Girona are located on. From here you need to walk about a quarter of an hour to the historical center of the city. Along the way you will see a lot of boutiques, shops and cafes, some in new buildings, while others are two hundred years old. There is also such an interesting phenomenon as covered passages and galleries. So in case of bad weather, you can not only hide from the rain, but also walk from one establishment to another, remaining dry.

If you flew to Catalonia on one of the low-cost airlines, then most likely it will land in one of the small hubs. This is Girona airport. It is not in the city center, so it will be far from the train station. But from here you can easily get to Barcelona North Bus Station. It is located almost in the center of the capital of Catalonia. You just need to get on a special bus. It's called Barcelona Bass. Its stop is located at the exit from the airport to the right.

Go down to the first floor of the Barcelona bus station building and you will become the owner of travel documents. The buses themselves run regularly - from platforms 28 and 29 of the Northern Bus Station.

From to Girona airport, as well as back, they get there in an hour and a quarter. We can say that this is the only type of bus that can be used on the Barcelona - Girona route.
