To begin with, when planning a trip to Sri Lanka, we, of course, opened the map and saw that the paradise Maldives are very close and it would be foolish not to take advantage of such a neighborhood :). Moreover, the flight from Colombo is only an hour. And not so long ago, the Maldivians were allowed to open hostels and hotels on local islands and thus develop affordable tourism, and not just elite :). And that's great news, friends.

There are so many things I want to tell about this trip that I was even at a loss where to start ... I'll start with everyday life - the road, transfer to the island, housing.

1. Road

The flight Colombo (Sri Lanka) - Male (Maldives) takes only an hour. And I must say that the plane goes on a journey not always according to the schedule, but rather because of the fact that everyone is assembled :). So it was with us. Knowing that the Maldives is a Muslim country with a ban on alcohol, we decided to drink at least one beer in duty free. At the checkout, we were even asked if we would have time to drink it before arrival - XO XO 🙂 a strange question, right? It turned out that they were looking for us))). Despite the fact that it was still half an hour before landing, an electric car came to pick us up personally and took it from the duty free to deliver it to the plane! Into the case! Holding beer in our hands, we felt like stars :). The driver of this wonderful car explained to us as follows - Why wait, everything is already assembled - we will fly earlier :). V big plane there were 8-9 of us, and the Chinese airlines China Eastern even fed us a minimum and provided for nuts. which went well with beer! To be honest, I didn't even realize that we had already arrived - the flight itself took about 30-40 minutes, I just finished my beer. Upon arrival, our suitcases were not even gutted, as tourists say, and they did not look for alcohol ... but in vain :)! A small Sri Lankan rum has crossed the border with us.

We arrived in Male late in the evening and decided to settle in Male in the most affordable hotel ... But there are no such ones here! The minimum price is $ 70. Maldives - what can you say. Early in the morning, together with 4 Czechs from our hotel, we went to the pier - it turned out they were also on Rasdhoo. Male ferry - Rasdhoo Atoll departed at 9 am. For information:

On our Rasdhoo atoll, this was exactly the case - we were taken to a desert island every day! But I'll tell you about it separately :).

The Maldives is 20 atolls with over a thousand coral islands! But in fact, only a few take tourists to their islands. I'm not talking now about island hotels, which cost unrealistic money - of course, everything is possible there! We chose Rasdhoo Island and Rasdhoo Island Hotel and it was a great choice! Due to the fact that we also bought the hotel in 3-4 months - the price was $ 58. For the Maldives, this MEGA is available!

We lived in this paradise Maldives 5 days.
