It is difficult to choose the best beach in Greece. Which beach is best for families with children? Where is the best place to swim? Which beach is best for parties? Which beach is best for snorkeling?

Everyone has their own criteria for the perfect beach. Add to this the fact that many islands in Greece have 20 or more beaches, how can you not make a mistake with the choice?

Crete

Elafonisi (Elafonisos)

Mylopotas (Mylopotas)

red beach

Santorini has the most amazing beaches in all of Greece. Here you will not find white sand, but because of the volcanic rocks, it is full of red, gray and black. The red beach is considered wild, but there is also a toilet and sun loungers. It is very beautiful here, red sand, rocks and azure water. I advise you to carefully swim in light-colored swimsuits, because the water can stain them.

Perissa beach

Long and wide beach with crystal clear azure water. Near the beach there are many inexpensive restaurants (taverns) where you can eat deliciously. Be careful, on this beach the bottom very quickly disappears from under your feet, closer to the smaller rocks. The sand here is black, so, again, towels, swimwear, everything can be stained, rent sunbeds, fortunately, they are inexpensive here - 5 euros per day. Do not wear light-colored shoes either, although there are paths along the entire beach, it is very hot to walk barefoot on the black sand.

Naxos

Plaka beach

The island of Naxos in Greece has a lot of wonderful beaches. And if you are a beach lover, then you will like this island. Well, the best beach on Naxos is Plaka. From the city of Naxos, a regular bus runs here every half an hour. It is usually not crowded here, the sand is fine, even and beautiful, the water is clear and azure. If you move a little away from the "civilized" beach with sun loungers and taverns, then you can strip naked, no one will see you.

Paros

Logaras beach

Paros is one of my favorite islands. There are many beautiful beaches here, such as Pounda and Piso Livadi, but they are very popular and always crowded. I like a more secluded holiday, so I chose Logaras. From the waves and wind, it is perfectly covered by a rock, so you can safely swim here.

Mykonos

Paradise Beach

This beach is hardly suitable for family holidays, it is primarily designed for young people. There is always fun and a lot of representatives of sexual minorities. After 15 - 16 hours on Paradise turn on the music and the party begins, at night there are parties here and famous DJs come. Imagine Ibiza? Here is something similar. The beach itself is very good, coarse sand, excellent water.

Ornos beach

Myrtos beach

Very beautiful beach with white pebbles. To be in Kefalonia and not see Myrtos is a grave crime. But with swimming, everything is somewhat more complicated. The entry into the water is deep, it is better not to go here with children. Well, even without special shoes it is quite painful to go into the sea because of the pebbles.

Corfu

Paleokastritsa beach

Another beautiful beach in Greece. It is small and cozy. There are many taverns with delicious food and you can take a boat tour of the local caves.

Milos

Sarakiniko beach

To be honest, this is not exactly a beach, in the conventional sense of the word, but rather a small sea pool. The landscape here is fantastic, whimsical white stones and emerald water between them. It is easily accessible by bus from Adamas. Be sure to visit the caves located next to the beach, it's very beautiful.

Skopelos

Staphylos beach

This beach has fantastically clear and clean water. Very beautiful view, but difficult descent from the mountain. The beach is not equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, you need to drag everything with you. There are no trees nearby, which means there is no shade. You rarely see tourists here, but there are many locals. If you go a little further and climb over a small hill, there will be a beach for nudists. The bottom of the sea is pebbly and there are many fish. But diving is great here.

Sifnos

Kamares beach

Sifnos is a very calm island with many beaches and Kamares is one of the best. This beach is great for families with children, there are many taverns and hotels nearby.

Skiathos

Koukounaries beach

In every sense a golden beach. Here the golden sand and Koukounaries are truly beautiful. I advise you to come early, before 11, to take all the best sunbeds. Lots of beach taverns, lots of water sports equipment. The entry into the sea is shallow, it is great to relax here with children. Around the pines and very tasty smells of pine needles. There are many vacationers.

Popular and idyllically secluded, wild and equipped with everything you need for a quality holiday. Those that will appeal to a tireless traveler, a risky athlete, a responsible family man, an incorrigible romantic or a couple in love. What are the best beaches in Europe?

Plage de Palombaggia (Plage de Palombaggia)

The most famous and best beach of Corsica is located in France, in the city of Porto-Vecchio, on the southeast coast. The two-kilometer coastline of fine golden sand is surrounded by mountains and a pine forest where you can hide from the hot rays of the sun. It is a paradise with clear turquoise water, pink porphyry boulders, national color and a wide range of activities, including boat trips to the islands of Cerbicales and Lavezzi. People often come here with children - parents like the cleanliness of the beach and smooth slopes to the water.

Elafonisi (Elafonisi)

A fabulously beautiful beach with pink sand is the decoration of the island of the same name and the whole of Crete. You will find it in the southwest of, visiting the snow-white stone monastery of Panagia Chrysoskalitissa along the way. Since Elafonisi is located in a protected area, there are only the most necessary things on the beach - sunbeds and umbrellas, showers and toilets, small cafes. But at the service of vacationers, the crystal clearness of warm water and the coast, which, due to tiny fragments of shells, sea shells and corals, becomes either pale peach or purple.

Spiaggia dei Conigli (Rabbit Beach)

The beach, located on the Italian island of Lampedusa (south of Sicily, between Malta and Tunisia), has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most beautiful not only in Europe, but on the entire planet. You can get to it only by sea, but the remoteness from civilization, impressive landscape, abundance of coral reefs, gentle sand and amazingly colored water are worth it. Spiaggia dei Conigli attracts connoisseurs of natural beauties, diving enthusiasts and those who are looking for an opportunity to relax and have fun.

Playa de ses Illetes (Playa de ses Illetes)

The beach, which is located on the quietest of the Balearic Islands, Formentera, can be reached by ferry from Ibiza, breaking the road from the port by car or bicycle. As a reward, a reserved place will act - a beautiful beach with silvery sand and pale blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. There are always a lot of people here, so regulars recommend spending time on a yacht. In terms of infrastructure development, Formentera is inferior to Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, but there are many good hotels and fish restaurants near Playa de ses Illetes.

Cala Mariolu (Cala Mariolu)

Mariolu Bay is located 50 km from the Gennargentu National Park with mountain lakes and snow-capped peaks. A small Italian beach surrounded by brutal cliffs is reached by boat or private boat, which regularly leaves the port of Cala Gonone (a seaside town in Sardinia). This tropical idyll is remembered for its smooth white marble pebbles - on the shore it seems pink, and shimmers in millions of shades in the water. It is quite shallow here, so vacationers often take their children with them.

Falesia (Falesia)

The rating of the best beaches in Europe is difficult to imagine without this section of the southern coast of Portugal. The main advantages of the beach are a small number of visitors, fine sand and picturesque coastal cliffs of all shades of ocher, sheerly descending to the ocean. Its turquoise waters and clear skies are a luxurious setting for endless layers of rock cut. Add to this the transparent air, purified by sprawling pine crowns, perfectly heated water, many bays for secluded relaxation, walking distance to hotels and transport stops.

Iztuzu (Iztuzu - Turtle Coast)

Spiaggia della Pelosa (Pelosa)

A beautiful beach on the Gulf of Asinara in Sardinia is a landmark of the city of Stintino, surrounded by cozy hotels and villas. This is one of the best sandy beaches in Europe with azure sea water, shallow depth and advanced infrastructure - sun loungers, umbrellas and boats are offered for rent, and local restaurants and cafes invite you to have a delicious lunch. The surrounding islands protect the Spiaggia della Pelosa from strong winds, so a pleasant holiday in the European Caribbean is guaranteed at any time of the year.

Praia Da Rocha is a real holiday for those who are in love with the lively atmosphere of Portugal and nature, which has preserved its originality on the edge of Europe.

La Concha (La Concha)

This sandy beach got its name from the Spanish word for "shell". It is its shape that exactly repeats the bay of the same name. La Concha belongs to the city of San Sebastian and is a clear example of how perfect a vacation spot by the Atlantic Ocean can be - even in winter, when its waters are quite cool, you can meet swimmers here. You will find a beach of fine sand and peaceful views between the fishing port and the rocky outcrop of Pico del Loro, behind which is Ondaretta Beach.

Fig Tree Bay Beach

If you find yourself in the southern part of Cyprus, be sure to visit the beach in Fig Tree Bay.
