Good day to all!
Today I want to talk about my trip with Polish airlines, namely LOT.
I’m not a very experienced traveler, so far I’ve only flown with Aeroflot, Air France, and German Lufthansa, and now it’s the Poles’ turn.
My trip took place in March 2016.
Before the flight, I read a lot of reviews on the Internet, sometimes not very good, that LOT planes were often delayed, that they didn’t like Russians there and generally ignored them.
But the ticket had already been purchased...and only one. I flew to Poland by Lufthansa, and from Poland by LOT.
In general, the impressions were positive.
LOT's planes are small, with only 4 seats in a row (2 seats on each side), and not 6, like Lufthansa.
Airplanes take off easily and land easily, although sometimes they flutter in the air mercilessly))).
It is better to register for your flight in advance online; registration is open 24 hours before the flight. I didn’t have this opportunity, so I checked in at the airport, I had to take what they gave))) But I got row 13))) Through the window you could see the landing gear extending and retracting right in front of you. Not the best the best place, but useful for experience.
Moreover, there was no discrimination in the fact that row 13 with the chassis outside the window was given to me out of harm precisely because I was Russian. Because the Poles were sitting next to me and also watched the same picture through the window.
We were not entitled to food. Apparently because the flight is not that long. The flight attendants walked around with a basket; you could take a choice of either a wafer candy or a small package of chewing marmalade.
Then they delivered drinks, and some of the drinks were paid for. I unknowingly poked at a metal coffee pot, thinking that there was tea there))) It turned out that it was coffee and it was paid, it cost 6 zlotys, but I no longer had zlotys, so I agreed to free tea, but it was already over, they asked me to wait , then they brought it in a glass, it was nice that they didn’t forget about me. In general, I did not notice any discrimination based on nationality)))
The flight attendants are all nice and polite.
I can’t say anything about the toilets on board, since I didn’t go)))
The plane was not delayed, we took off and arrived in Moscow on time.
The only thing I didn’t like was that passengers are brought to the plane by bus. Somehow this is not very convenient. We’re already used to boarding a plane through an accordion sleeve, we’re spoiled)))
Everything was fine with my luggage, nothing was lost or stolen, although my luggage bag had no locks and was not wrapped in plastic.
In addition to the woman’s handbag and the bag itself, which was checked in as luggage, she also carried a large bag of things with her in the cabin; not a word was said.
In general, I recommend LOT. Quite a decent airline.

LOT- largest airline Poland. One of the oldest currently operating air carriers.

In an Aeroport

Airport check-in

Through the Internet

Online check-in is carried out on a special page of the official website of LOT airline. The maximum period is 36 hours before departure. You need to select the departure airport, enter the passenger's last name and registration data, or the ticket number and the passenger's last name. After successfully completing the procedure, the passenger has the opportunity to print out a boarding pass. Or (at his request) the airline will send a link via SMS message. By clicking on it, you can download your boarding pass to mobile phone- in this case there is no need to print it and the document will always be with you.

Using a machine at Chopin Airport

You need to enter your first name, last name and reservation code on the keyboard. The machine will issue a boarding pass. All that remains is to check your luggage (if available) at the counter.

Automatically

You only need to tick a special box when purchasing a ticket, or no later than 25 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight, contact the call center and express such a desire. The system will register the passenger itself and send him a boarding pass by e-mail or SMS.

Important! The service is not available on flights departing from Romania, the UK, Russia, the USA, Canada, China and Japan, as well as in other cases where you need to enter passenger passport details (for example, when flying from a country that is not part of the Schengen area).

Dockings

LOT offers many connecting flight options. Warsaw Chopin Airport is used as a transit point, which has been further refurbished to speed up and facilitate transfers. Minimum time connections are 30, 35 or 40 minutes, depending on the airport from which the passenger arrived.

Baggage

In the basic tariff (Economy Simple) the opportunity to transport luggage on domestic and international flights throughout Europe, as well as the Middle East and North Africa(as well as in reverse direction) is missing - you can take only 1 piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg. Maximum size - 55×40×23 cm.

But on intercontinental flights, checked baggage is included in the price of any ticket. Quantity and weight depend on the tariff. These are 1, 2 or 3 pieces, each of which does not exceed 23 or 32 kg.

If a passenger bought a ticket without luggage, he can later pay for the possibility of carriage - through the official website or the company's contact center - for 80 zlotys / 21 US dollars / 28 Canadian dollars / 20 euros / 2400 Japanese yen or 24,300 Korean won* one way. Otherwise (already at the check-in counter) it will cost you at the excess baggage rate (that is, much more expensive).

Nutrition

Lot airline feeds its passengers on all flights. The type of food depends on the class of service (economy or business) and the duration of the flight. In particular, according to the rules, on flights lasting less than 6 hours, passengers in economy and premium economy classes receive only a small snack. However, they do have the option to purchase food and drinks from the LOT Gourmet menu on board.
