Turkish Airlines (tour. Türk Hava Yolları Anonim Ortaklığı, translated as Turkish Airlines) is the flagship carrier of Turkey, based in Istanbul. It operates regular flights to 220 foreign and 42 domestic airports in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The airline's main hub is Istanbul Ataturk International Airport (IST), while the secondary hubs are Ankara Esenboa International Airport (ESB) and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW).

The airline employs about 12,000 people.

On April 1, 2008, the airline became a member of the Star Alliance.

Turkish Airlines operates flights from 42 airports in Turkey. Turkish Airlines is the leader in domestic travel with AnadoluJet's low-cost division. Competitors include Onur Air, Pegasus, SunExpress (50% owned by Turkish Airlines) and Atlasjet.
