Aeroflot fleet: general characteristics and detailed overview

PJSC Aeroflot (a member of the Sky Team) is the largest Russian aviation corporation, under whose wing three subsidiaries also operate - Pobeda, Russia, and Aurora. Works on international and domestic flights from the Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow. Let's analyze the modern aircraft fleet Among other European air carriers, it is distinguished by its modernity and rapid growth in the number of equipment.

General overview of the Aeroflot fleet

As already mentioned, Aeroflot has the youngest technopark in Europe and the world, which is also the largest in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. Its main elements are Airbus (A320, A330), Sukhoi SuperJet-100.

For those who are interested in how many planes there are in Aeroflot's fleet, we present the data as of April 29, 2017. The company has 190 units of equipment. The average age of airliners is 4.3 years. Long-liver of Airbus A320-200 - 13.6 years; and the newest one was ordered this year.

By 2020, the corporation plans to increase the fleet by 184 aircraft units. 126 of them are Sukhoi SuperJet-100, airliners of the domestic aircraft industry.

Let's consider the composition of the aircraft fleet in more detail.

Boeings Aeroflot

"Boeings" of the Aeroflot aircraft fleet, a photo of one of which you will see below, are represented by two models:

  1. Boeing B737-800 - designed for flights over medium and long distances. Considered a wide-body airliner. Boeing aircraft have been produced since 1981 - during this period all their shortcomings were discovered and eliminated, therefore such aircraft are rightfully considered the most reliable and safe. Aeroflot's fleet has 26 Boeing B737-800s, the oldest of which is 3.7 years old, and the newest a couple of months old. This aircraft model has 138 economy class seats and 20 business class seats.
  2. The Boeing B777-300 is one of the most massive Boeing models, which can accommodate exactly 402 passengers (324 in economy, 48 in comfort and 30 in business). The oldest Boeing B777-300 is 4.4 years old, and the newest is about 8 months old.

In the saloons of all Boeings there are 2 aisles, the arrangement of seats according to the scheme "2 + 3 + 2", which contributes to the convenience of passengers' movement. Models can reach speeds of up to 900 km / h at an altitude of up to 13.1 km. Without landing, these Boeing aircraft can cover up to 10.6 thousand km.

Aeroflot Airbuses

Airbus is the largest component of Aeroflot's fleet. Let's analyze all the presented models:

  1. The Airbus A330-300 has three seat layouts in Economy and Business Class: 265-268 in the first and 28-36 in the second. Aeroflot has 17 airbuses of this model, the youngest of which is 4.4 years old, and the oldest - 7.6 years old.
  2. The Airbus A330-200 is equipped with 207 economy class and 12 + 22 business class seats. The age range of these airliners is small: 7.7-8.5 years. There are 5 of them in the park.
  3. - Aeroflot owns 34 cars of this model. They can accommodate 142 people in the economy class and 28 in the business class. The oldest board is 9.6 years old, the newest is undergoing commissioning.
  4. Airbus A320-200 - this model has a numerical advantage in Aeroflot's fleet (71 units). provides 120 seats in economy class and 20 in the business category. As you remember, the company's long-lived aircraft belongs to this particular model - it is 13.6 years old. The newest Airbus A320-200 is 0.1 years old.

Models of the 320 series are narrow-body, designed for short and medium-haul air routes, while the rest, wide-body, are suitable for long-distance air transportation. The first version, equipped with two CFM engines, is capable of covering routes 5-5.5 thousand km long, while having the highest take-off weight of 70-80 tons.

Wide-body Airbuses can easily fly over distances of up to 10.5 thousand km, with a maximum take-off weight of 320 tons. Their average cruising speed is close to 880 km / h.

Aircraft "Sukhoi SuperJet"

Aeroflot has 30 Sukhoi SuperJet-100 aircraft in its fleet. Each of them has 75 economy class seats and 12 business class seats. The newest "Dry SuperJet" is 1.1 years old, and the oldest is 4.2 years old.

Sukhoi SuperJet-100 is a regional airliner designed for medium-haul routes. This is a completely Russian development - an innovative replacement for the Yak-42, Tu-134 and Tu-154. Since 2011, when the first aircraft was put into operation, 100 units of this technique have been produced. In addition to Aeroflot, 160 new Dry Superjet-100s are expected, apart from Aeroflot, Gazpromavia, Interjet (Mexico), PT Sky Aviation (Indonesia), etc.

Decommissioned

Consider aircraft that are no longer part of Aeroflot's fleet:

  1. Boeing B767-300. The model was completely decommissioned in 2014.
  2. IL-96. The pride of the domestic aircraft industry was completely removed from service in the same 2014. After a number of modifications, two Il-96s were transferred to Cubana (Cuban air carrier).
  3. Fifteen data units of Airbus from 2013 to 2016 were smoothly transferred to the use of subsidiaries of the Aeroflot group - Aurora and Russia.

It should also be noted that the air carrier has 4 aircraft in storage: two Airbus A320s, one Boeing 767-300 and one Sukhoi SuperJet-100.

Aeroflot Aircraft Corporation owns one of the most modern and large-scale aircraft fleets in the world, which is constantly being modernized and multiplied by new models of both foreign (Boeing, Airbus) and domestic manufacturers (Sukhoi SuperJet).
