To attract tourists, not so long ago, the village of Pueblo La Estrella appeared on Cayo Santa Maria, where it is easy to spend all the money available: they are welcomed in bars, restaurants, bowling clubs, discos, souvenir shops and spa salons are open. The ocean at the resort has character: it is almost never calm, and the entrance to the water, although shallow, is steep.

Due to the fact that young mothers ask me questions, I decided to post a review especially for them, just as when going on vacation to Cuba, I flipped through a bunch of websites and forums to find at least some information about traveling with young children.

When we flew to Cuba, our daughter was 11 months old. At registration we asked for seats right behind the business class - a cradle is attached to the wall, but as we do, these seats have already been given to other people (although it was known in the booking that there is a baby - this, of course, surprises) My husband had to run pretty much around the cabin in order to persuade at least someone to change places, at least to those places where the aisle between the chairs is wider, since the handles of the chairs did not rise. But now everyone does not change for himself We were fabulously lucky that young people sat down at the places where the cradle is attached (people of age would not change, they no longer remember (not all, of course) what little children are!). THANKS TO THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE !!!

The cradle, of course, is too small, but it was still very useful (my daughter slept in it, and when she was awake, she sat there and played). Transaero provided food only when we flew to Cuba, and even then it was a jar of rice with pumpkin, a jar plum puree "Babushkino basket" (by the way, we really liked the meat puree of this company, but my daughter did not eat these mashed potatoes!) and a small tetra packet of milk. We took bottles of water with us, which we do not regret. All this was put into suitcases and checked in luggage. On the plane I collected a bag for my daughter, where I put change clothes, several diapers, toys, a terry envelope for bathing (they were covered with it), a sheet for cradles and food for 3-4 times. Stewardesses asked for mashed potatoes, they warmed us up. Of course they took a pot (now we will take only a baby pad on the toilet bowl) Yes, another important point, I was still breastfeeding, which was a huge plus! for daughter tights 100% cotton Russian, sun e same fly 13 hours, so that she was more comfortable, on top of a jumpsuit made of micro-velor with fully unfastened trousers, which again made it easier to change diapers. Take diapers and panties with Velcro, both will come in handy. But on the plane, of course, it is more convenient to wear panties ...

Be sure to take a stroller, a very necessary thing at the airport, at the hotel, on the beach, we were everywhere with it (we even went on one excursion). It is neither luggage, nor hand luggage, therefore it is not weighed. We have a cane of 10 kg and no problem. The plane drove right up the sleeve on it, and there the steward took it into the luggage. In Cuba, she was unloaded the very first and she met us at passport control. Take a mosquito on the wheelchair. Although they did not notice especially no mosquitoes, no mosquitoes, it perfectly protects against flies and other flying insects.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FLYED WITH US GRANDMA, my husband's mother. She helped a lot with her daughter, at least we were able to go on a few excursions, and she also had the opportunity to visit Cuba. In general, I will honestly say that it would have been hard without my grandmother. We wouldn’t eat properly, we wouldn’t shop, and we probably didn’t even talk about excursions.

Everyone went to the Italian restaurant, again with a stroller, no one was outraged. And next to the next table sat a very nice family from Argentina - mom, dad and 2 teenage sons (almost like ours). Mom explained to us (in English. She also really wants her daughter, but dad is categorically against it, he is only for the boys. She asked me to hold her daughter in her arms. And when our Nastya started dancing to the music, everyone smiled and clapped their hands.

Boiled milk all day, and you can take the night in vending machines for tea, cocoa and coffee, there was a MILK button. They could dilute porridge. From the food offered by the hotel, you can choose for a child, this is stew, and rice, and some cutlets, and chicken, and she especially liked the crab meat in batter.

The Cubans, and all the vacationers, treated my daughter and me very cordially. There were few of us with children, but Canadians, Italians, and residents of South America were with children, they met even younger than ours. and when we came the next time we met with a joyful exclamation: "Nastya, O-la!", and also "Linda!" I don’t know what that means in Spanish. They always quickly brought us a highchair for the little ones.

The change of day and night is also very important. Be prepared that the baby will sleep on the plane, then on the bus, and when the time comes to lie down for you, he will be awake! This is the first 2-3 days. The same story when you fly home!

The return flight was delayed, we were warned about this by the Tez Tour guide and we returned our rooms, had a quiet lunch, went for a swim in the ocean and swam in the pool. But the delay of 2 hours at the airport was uncomfortable for my daughter. smoking right there in the hall ... But she talked to a girl from Canada, 3-4 years old, who was with her tiny suitcase on wheels and joyfully showed our bunny (very shabby) to our Nastya. then they explained to us that this was her favorite toy, which she never parted with. It was very cute!

We flew back at night and everyone, incl. and my daughter, we slept. We were alone with such a baby on the plane, and when we got out, many told us that she was the best passenger. By the way, be prepared that they drink on the plane and different situations happen (read my review about the flight)

Now we are already 1.8. In December we are going to the Dominican Republic. I’m worried about the flight. My daughter probably won’t sit still for a long time. So we’ll run around the cabin! Grandma doesn’t come with us, but 2 brothers are traveling, they are already quite old (15 and 17 years old), they will help. with a laptop (she is already watching cartoons with might and main), an album and pencils, books to somehow hold her in place.

The first experience of meeting with big water, and not with a bath, our daughter got in the Atlantic Ocean! By her reaction we understood that she liked it! And we don’t regret taking her at all !!! And dad said: "We will only travel with our daughter!"

P.S. For a child, ALWAYS take winter clothes with you! (if you fly in winter). They gave us a sleeve to the plane to Cuba, and back, they adjusted the ladder and got to the airport by bus!
