Hello everyone! Today I would like to raise a very topical question that interests many readers of my blog: how can you check an air ticket purchased over the Internet? After all, you must admit that when booking online you sometimes have suspicions - "what if the airline deceives me?" or "what if there was a problem with the booking system and my ticket is no longer valid?" What to look for in a ticket?
By the way, an electronic ticket is a very convenient thing. Even if you lost yours, you can print it again on paper at any time.
So, first you need to find out the reservation code. Actually, it is indicated on the ticket itself and consists of 6 characters (letters and numbers). Most often it can be found in the line next to the words "Booking data" or "Booking Reference". Found it? Wonderful.
There are several ways to make sure that the ticket was purchased.
Method number 1: call the airline
On the website through which the booking took place, find the telephone number of the "hot" line. We call it and inform the operator of the contact information for whom the ticket and the code were purchased. In a few seconds you will receive a confirmation (or a refutation - this may also be the case, unfortunately) of your purchase.
You can also specify the coordinates of the flight, the flight number and other information of interest to you. By the way, by calling, you will receive the necessary information using only one reservation number. Which is very convenient, especially if you do not know exactly who the ticket was issued for.
Method number 2: search the Internet
If for some reason you cannot call the company, you can confirm your ticket via the Internet. Reservations are made through one of the global booking systems:

Checking the authenticity of the purchase of tickets on the site is carried out by the name and booking code. Just go to the site and enter the data.

The relevance of the ticket: how to check?
Unfortunately, due to various circumstances (bad weather conditions, for example) flights can sometimes be canceled. When a ticket was purchased through a travel agency, the travel agent must inform you of the rescheduling or cancellation of the flight.
If you bought an air ticket on your own, you can find information on the status of the flight on the same website where you checked your ticket reservation (Method No. 2). You see the inscription "Confirmed" - great!
However, if it is indicated that the flight is "Not confirmed" - contact the company to clarify all the details. You may be offered to return your ticket or the flight will be operated by another air carrier.
Mistakes when buying online
We are all human and everyone is capable of making a mistake by purchasing an air ticket. For example, you incorrectly entered the passenger's name or other data. What to do in this case? Really have to cancel the reservation and return the ticket?
Incorrect spelling of the full name and passport data is a serious enough mistake, due to which boarding can be prohibited. In this case, I advise only one thing: be sure to contact the air carrier as soon as possible, and the consultant will explain in detail to you what needs to be done to correct inaccuracies.
Well, what if you chose the wrong route? As a rule, business class tickets are exchanged without any questions. However, airlines are not always ready to accommodate the owner of an economy class ticket. Here it is also worth contacting the carrier's representative and clarify further actions. You will probably just have to pay extra for the ability to exchange a ticket.
