How do we save up to 25% on hotels?

It's very simple - we use a special search engine RoomGuru for 70 services for booking hotels and apartments with the best price.

Bonus for renting apartments 2100 rubles

Instead of hotels, you can book an apartment (1.5-2 times cheaper on average) on AirBnB.com, a very convenient world-wide and well-known apartment rental service with a bonus of 2100 rubles upon registration

For tourists who have already managed to spend all the money during their previous wanderings in Germany, well, or arrived immediately with limited funds, here are a couple of tips where you can go to Hamburg to dine cheaper.

"Karotoffelkeller"(Deichstraße 21)

If you love potatoes, here you can treat yourself to potatoes prepared in a variety of ways and with different sauces. The restaurant opens at noon every day. Order here, for example, baked potatoes with different fillings, potato salads, potato soups, meat dishes with potatoes and potato sauces, and even potatoes with ice cream for dessert. If you are on a diet, then this is perhaps not better place For you.

"Balutschi"(Grindelallee 31)

This is a Pakistani food restaurant, the best of its kind in Hamburg and quite famous. Students from nearby university flock here to savor the aromatic spicy Oriental cuisine.

"Einstein Bistro"

In general, this is a cozy bistro and a Mediterranean restaurant with enough low prices... This is a great place to order a large pizza or hearty main course for € 5 or less, as well as enjoy fresh salads, tapas and appetizers. This is, of course, not such a cute cozy old-fashioned German cafe, but an ordinary unpretentious eatery, but the cost of the food, the size of the portions, and the taste, of course, make these restaurants worth a visit. There are several such cafes in Hamburg, here are the addresses: 1. Chaussee 45, 2. Billstedter Hauptstr. 34-36 3. Bramfelder Chaussee 361 4. Schopenstehl 32 5. Grindelberg 81-83 6. Lübecker Straße 133

"Erika's-Eck"(Sternstraße 98)

This very traditional restaurant serves the best of traditional German food. The portions are huge and the prices are fair. This is a great place to have breakfast, even early in the morning, after a hectic hike in night club... The restaurant only closes for a couple of hours a day, from 14:00 to 17:00, and is open daily. That is, the cafe is open all night, which is very convenient!

Daniel Wischer(Spitaler Straße 12 and Steinstraße 15a)

If you want to dine on fish and chips, then this little restaurant will be the best choice... Since 1924, it has served its visitors with all kinds of grilled fish dishes, including grilled fish or baked fish with vegetables.

"Manee Thai"(Schauenburgerstr. 59, 1st floor)

This is an excellent Thai restaurant, very romantic decorated, comfortable, serving spicy hearty food. You can find cheaper Thai restaurants in Hamburg as well, but they will not offer great quality food and service. Nevertheless, this restaurant is quite inexpensive. The cafe has a special menu that changes every month and includes the first course, soup, main course and dessert - all for a fixed price, which is very convenient and the whole set is cheaper than if you ordered the dishes separately.

"Teufels Küche"(Ottenser Hauptstraße 47)

The Devil's Kitchen is renowned for being one of the best inexpensive restaurants in Hamburg, serving oriental and German cuisine. The main dishes here cost less than 10 euros and are prepared quite quickly. The menu is small, changes all the time, and includes many vegetarian options. You can hardly find another café like this in Hamburg that prepares the same good food at such low prices.

"Kleine Pause"(Wohlwillstr. 37)

This is a small but very popular restaurant in the city. The best roasts are cooked here, and don't miss the delicious currywurst. Order cheap mojitos here! This is a great place to start a Saturday night disco, so to speak, to take a little break (this is how the name of the restaurant translates). Two TVs are installed for live sports broadcasts, so there are a lot of people here during important matches. Naturally, in addition to delicious potatoes and sausages, fresh cold beer.

Falafel Factory(Schanzenstr. 101)

Order here falafel, salads and potatoes for only three euros (all together). Falafels can be ordered with any flavor, spicy or not, with or without sauces. Everyone cooks really fast, you can also take takeaway dishes. The restaurant is tiny, but this is a real treasure of the city. Plus, the restaurant is open until late at night, more precisely, until the morning (until 5 am!), So again you can drop by after the club for an early breakfast.

"Falafelstern"(Schanzenstr. 111)

As you might guess, this restaurant is located not far from the previous stall. And one more "free" place. Order chicken shawarma, sesame cookies, and falafel (which in other cases can be obtained as a bonus, in particular, to shawarma!). This shawarma costs around 3-4 euros, and the size of this dish is sufficient to fill your fill. Beautiful place to satisfy your hunger. The restaurant is always full of visitors, but does not lose its charm and comfort.

"Gecko"(Ballindamm 40)

Great place for lunch, Mexican bar serving burritos including lean ones. A worthy rebuff to the falafel bars and Indian restaurants that Hamburg intends to do. Try the chicken with honey and lemon and quesadilla. A good burrito costs around € 5.90. Be careful, the food is quite spicy!

"Hesburger"(Reeperbahn 29)

As the name suggests, this is a cute burger bar. The restaurant is always crowded, but it is very warm and light. The cheeseburgers are fantastic and the vegetable nuggets are also great. The burgers are very large, and in quality they can surpass the favorite McDonald's or Burger King. You can order salmon fillet fish cakes.

"Asia Bistro"(Reimerstwiete 3)

A Chinese bistro that looks sad enough from the outside, but offers wonderful dining options. For example, for 3.80 euros for a small portion and 4.70 euros for a large one (but believe me, a small plate is enough). It is possible to order food to go. The food is pretty standard - chicken, rice, noodles, soups, fish, beef. Everything good quality- in general, a hearty and cheap lunch.

"Qrito"(Osterstr. 165)

This is a decent Mexican restaurant with inexpensive prices. Of course, you can't go without a juicy burrito. Also, tacos, side dishes, carnitas, salads. Small quesadillas cost 2.50 euros each. Karnitas with pork, cheese and tomatoes - 5.50 euros. You can also order beer and soda. For four you can eat well for 20-25 euros!

Let me disagree with the editor-in-chief. The lack of knowledge of German does not at all overshadow the stay of a tourist in Hamburg. In English quite enough. Some expats never learn German and live without problems! Everyone knows English, but many speak excellently, all young people - 100% and, of course, all the attendants.

Hamburg is a very beautiful, green, friendly and diverse city with its own unique architecture, history and culture! I am convinced that any tourist can find many interesting places for entertainment and contemplation!

If you can figure it out, of course, the city has a very informative and up-to-date website - (there is English language).

Also help you. great app for metro navigation - Hamburg Metro - Map and Route Planner by mxData Limited

Here are just a few options for the alleyway:

1. District Blankenese, metro S1 / S11. This is the most beautiful, absolutely distinctive old district of the city, located at the Elbe. Previously, it was a fishing village, which has gradually turned into one of the favorite recreation places of the townspeople. Small old houses literally climb over each other, towering over the spacious embankment. Maritinsky theme, neat gardens, thatched roofs, flowers and beautiful views accompany the guests of the village. This is the only hilly area in the city, the staircase area, as it is also called. These houses are insanely expensive, therefore locals- all white bone. Unfortunately, good restaurants it was not noticed there.

2. You must go to the Reeperbahn! It is not for nothing that the first Beatles concert outside England took place here (in the "Große Freiheit" club)! Better to go on Friday or Saturday late at night! Believe me, it is not without reason that this is the most famous district of debauchery and entertainment in the world! During the day it is very unpleasant, but I strongly recommend walking at night and looking at all this madness at least once in my life. Better to take a tour (excursion) of the area. Here, too, the kitchen did not work out - they mostly drink.

3. The entire embankment of the Elbe from the fish market (Fischmarkt), where, by the way, young people go during the night on Repperbahn (this is nearby) and to Hafen City, certainly deserves attention for its architecture and beautiful views of the port docks and various ships. first of all! You can ride the Elbe on modern small ferries - it is very invigorating! You can also take there sightseeing tour by steamer on the Elbe, the docks and the world-renowned storage area (Speichestadt).

4. Inner and outer Alster and town square - Rathaus. This is a tourist mecca and there really is something to see!

Where to eat? I recommend a very authentic fish restaurant located on the most beautiful pedestrian street Colonnaden 104 (this is the very center, the closest metro to it is U1 Stefansplatz). It is called "Fishfeinkost Delikatessen des Meers". The restaurant is more than 100 years old, it is tiny, if the weather allows you try to sit outside. There is always only one dish on the menu (dish of the day, different every day, of course). It costs 6.50 €, the plate is huge, deliciously insane! It's always a fishy dish, usually with a strong side dish backing! Wine can be ordered for dinner, nothing else is on the menu. You need to get in and pick up lunch at the restaurant itself. They will also tell you after which bell (bell) to come for your portion.

5. An excellent option is to rent a sailboat / boat / catamaran / kayak / SUP and enjoy the beauty and nature of the city from the water surface. Usually, tourists limit themselves to walking on small steamers, which is also beautiful, but banal and unsportsmanlike. Any boat can be easily found in Hamburg. vehicle for hire and spend the day traveling through countless canals, mooring to cafes and restaurants. Here, for example, is a bar worth docking to - Fiedler's Cafe Bar (Hofweg 103), and across this lake (Rondeelteich) I highly recommend making your own water route.

Enjoy your trip and gooten appetite!

Hamburg is honestly pretty boring city for a tourist who does not know German (the value judgment of a person who has been there ten times).

There is an active cultural life there, especially with regard to contemporary and street art, theater, avant-garde music and various underground art practices. But all this is difficult to delve into if you come for a couple of days or a week.

And so - take a walk around Lake Alster, see the town hall, Speicherstadt, the Miniatur-Wunderland toy museum (it's really great, and children can easily spend a day there): there are working models of literally everything that was created by civilization, everything moves, makes sounds, everything headlights work, even planes naturally fly. Door to door with this museum is a very cool coffee shop with single varieties of coffee from all over the world (almost all coffee imported into Europe passes through Hamburg). Be sure to buy something rare with you.

Be sure to go to fish market, better watch by 6 in the morning. It, of course, deteriorated due to tourists, but it is still an order of magnitude more lively than most markets in large cities: people in leather jackets play rock (at 6, I remind you, in the morning), the fish is freshest and very cheap, a lot of overseas goods (the port is the same). In general, it is interesting.

Another fun attraction is to go to a match of the legendary St. Pauli club. This is generally a unique phenomenon: socialism + hard rock + anarchy in the management structure + football. The current president of the club burned cars ten years ago, stole from supermarkets and fought with the police (and now, I suspect, he continues). With football with this approach, of course, everything is bad: usually St. Pauli plays in the second league, but the stadium is always packed anyway, and it's worth seeing.
