What are the beaches in Bali. Bali black volcanic sand beaches: Ketevel beach

AND clean water ocean, but there are also places that are fundamentally different from the standard view of the resort. In the north of the island there are beautiful beaches with volcanic black sand and this amazing natural wonder makes them special. The blackness of the sand is achieved by the lava that gets into the water during volcanic eruptions. Bali is just in the zone of volcanic activity, since the island has two active volcanoes Gunung Agung (3142 m) and Batur (1717 m).

Now they are in hibernation, but the slightest seismic activity can awaken them. In 1963, there was a violent eruption of Agung, which claimed the lives of several thousand local residents and made tens of hectares of land unusable for irrigation and use. In memory of this day and as a reminder that volcanoes can erupt at any moment, amazing black sand has formed on the nearby beaches - favorite place tourists. More about volcanic sand beaches in Bali, we will tell you below.

Where to find black sand beaches in Bali

Contrary to the stereotype that a paradise beach must be white, 80% of the island's coastline is covered with black volcanic sand beaches. Their length in the north is 11 km, taking into account the length of the main beach of Lovina, which is 8 km long, and 14 km in the east. The coastline begins near Sanur and stretches to Padang Bai. The entire northeastern part is covered with a black, resinous mass that vaguely resembles sand. Feels like the consistency still resembles something between crystalline salt and sand, but outwardly it resembles paradise beach hardly noticeable.
There are many such beaches throughout the island of Bali. Some of them are adapted for relaxation, others more than swimming. There are also wild beaches where tourists cannot be found at all. Conventionally, the entire coastline is divided into the northern part, where the Lovina beach is located, and the eastern part, where Tulamben, Chandidasa, Amed, Padang-Bai are located.

Black volcanic sand - is it safe?

Black sand in Bali will surprise no one. There is nothing hazardous to health in volcanic sand. It is formed from erupting lava, which falls into the water, cools and turns to stone. Over time, waves begin to crush these blocks, breaking them into small particles. These pebbles are washed ashore, forming sand. You can touch it with your hands, it does not pinch, there are no toxic components - simple, but at the same time unusual. And although beaches with white sand are more familiar, such a miracle of nature must be seen with your own eyes.

Each tourist will be able to choose for himself the place where he likes best, and we will help to tell you more about each of these beaches.

Lovina beach: history, infrastructure, features

The black sand beach is located in the north of Bali in the Buleleng province, 9 km from Singaraja. The beach got its name in 1953, when Raja Anak Agung, after traveling to India, decided to create a special place for rest on the island. The name "Lovina" comes from the English "Love" - I love, and the Indonesian "Ina" - mother. Literally, the combination translates as love for the mother (earth). But, according to some reports, it means the Balinese love for the island or love for each other.

It is the longest beach with black volcanic sand and popular place among tourists. This, swimming, snorkeling and quiet relaxation. There are 7 villages along the coastline: Kalibukbuk, Pemaron, Amturan, Kaliazem, Tukad Mugga, Bunualit and Temukus. , shops, restaurants of the area is concentrated in the village of Kalibukbuk. In terms of infrastructure, the resort is very similar to Kuta, only life is calmer here, so this is. The rest of the villages of Lovina are less developed, but all the necessary infrastructure for recreation is available.

The beaches of the Lovina resort are 8 km long. The coastline with gray-black volcanic sand and clear water attracts tourists. These beaches are a paradise for swimming. There are also many divers and scuba divers here. These beaches are not suitable for surfing because high waves almost never happens here. This is due to the fact that the bay is surrounded by rocks on both sides. They protect from the wind. But, this is the perfect beach for family vacation with kids.

Candidasa Beach: where is that interesting

Candidasa Beach is located in the east of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula. It is located 12 km from Karangasem. Chandidasa became popular not so long ago. Traveling around the island of Bali, tourists increasingly sought seclusion. The white sands of the coastline have been replaced by the rocky Chandidasa, which is unlike any other beach in Bali.

It looks more like a pier and, although the sea is clear, you can swim here only when there are no waves. The beach is composed of black sand, volcanic rocks resembling granite and stones. But that doesn't stop amateurs. The coastline of Candidasa is densely dotted with hotels and restaurants, and the hotel rooms are as in Kuta.

The beach is located 60 km from Ngurah Rai and you can get here by public transport in the direction of Klungkung or Amlapur. Or a car.

Bali's black sand beaches are a must-see for every tourist. This is a truly amazing sight and an interesting natural phenomenon. Each beach has its own shade of sand, its structure and peculiarity, so if possible, it is worth visiting all of them.

Cozy beach, cocktail with a straw, endless sea blue, golden sand. Visually evaluating the beach by parameters, we determine for ourselves:

  • nice beach, but waves;
  • great beach, but shallow water;
  • the sea and the beach are wonderful, but there are a lot of people or the location is inconvenient;
  • the beach is dirty, but the sea is good, etc.

Bali's beaches are different. In order to have an idea of the beach areas and not be disappointed when planning a vacation, let's get to know the beaches better. See the map of Bali beaches:

Beach Southwest

Bali's white sand beaches are a priority in the Western and Southern Territories.

Long, noisy, crowded Kuta beach with developed infrastructure. Sandy bottom, not very clean. There is budget housing and guesthouses. The hectic life at night attracts young people. Mecca for surfers, several surf schools are designed for Russians.

The long and fashionable Legian beach continues the Kuta area. It becomes very wide at low tide. Good for trekking and jogging. Accommodation is more expensive than in Kuta. Not suitable for swimming, only for surfing. The infrastructure is well developed.

The wide and prestigious Seminyak beach begins behind Legian. The waves are high, there are many surfers. Expensive housing - respectable hotels and villas. There is a rental of beach accessories, surfboards.

Several kilometers of sandy strip - Jimbaran beach. There is shallow water near the coast, the depth begins further. The bottom is good. The tide "narrows" the beach to a thin strip. Along the beach there are a string of 4 * and 5 * hotels and fish restaurants.

It rightfully takes its place of honor in the list of the most beautiful beaches of the island (Dreamland beach). Fine sand, azure restless sea. There are always a lot of surfers here. The food is delicious in cozy cafes. Developed infrastructure.

The wide Balangan beach with fine yellowish sand is not crowded. An attractive view of the beach and its "Martian land" along the coastline from the nearby cliff. There are cafes and sun loungers everywhere. Entering the water with shoes on, it is difficult to swim. But the photos of the beach are bright and surfers love the beach.

Small and calm Padang Padang beach. It was once a secret beach, only known about locals... Popular now. The shore is nice and the waters are clear. There are few waves, which is unusual for Bali. It is crowded here during peak season. There are no sun loungers, only umbrellas can be rented. There is a modest cafe, tents with beach-bathing accessories. The highlight of the Blue Heaven Hotel-Restaurant, located at the height of the cliff, is the "pool running over the edges". The beach is good for families.

Bingin beach is suitable for surfing, nature lovers and romantic photo shoots. The bottom is sandy, waves and a lot of foam. There are several hotels with respectable infinity pools.

White Pandawa beach. Not crowded, suitable for swimming and sunbathing, but there are no hotels here. Extended territory, clear ocean waters. There is a walking path with a number of cafes along the beach; kayak rent; massage parlor. Natural stalactite caves acting balinese temple with statues - a piece of the beach ..

White-sandy Nikko beach. Uncrowded and extended. There is only 1 Grand Nikko hotel on the beach. Relaxation atmosphere, panoramic views of the volcano.

Geger beach - listed best beaches... The ocean is clean, the beach is fine sand. The nearby breakwater and coral reef calm the sea. There are several cafes and entertainment - canoeing, snorkeling, windsurfing. A free shuttle service to the beach is provided by nearby hotels.

Nusa Dua beach. There are many five-star hotels on their territory. It is not always possible to stay on the beaches without being a guest of the hotel. Cleanliness and length, coastal shallow water. Beach for swimming, windsurfing. At low tide, shallow lagoons are formed. Suitable for romantics and families. Part of the beach area is the Tanjung Benoa sand spit. Here they organize attractive walks on the seabed in spacesuits.

Perfect surfing

Which beach is the best for surfing is difficult to answer. Surfing is the island's specialty. Changgu beach. Surfers-gurus and beginners alike catch the wave here. The structure of the bottom contributes to the formation of a more powerful and higher wave than in Kuta. Accommodation is available. Some hotels have their own sun lounger area. There are many cozy cafes.

Echo beach is a neighbor of Canggu. The border between them is a Balinese temple. There is a bar-cafe. Surfing conditions are favorable.

Uluwatu Beach (also known as Suluban) is hidden between the rocks. It is flooded by the tide. The high wave attracts experienced surfers. The infrastructure is developed and adapted for them. There is a cafe on the cliff, from where you can enjoy magnificent ocean views.

Southeast coast

Long beach Sanur (Sanur beach). The coast is shallow and the sea is calm. Excellent conditions for children. Expensive coastal hotels, cafes / restaurants. There is cheap housing in the Sanur village. Good snorkeling and diving. There is a walking and cycling path along the coast. The breakwaters are decorated with romantic gazebos. Local attractions include a safari park and beautiful waterfall... The famous Agung is visible from the beach.

The clean Blue Lagoon beach is suitable for snorkeling. Narrow coastal strip, flooded by the tide. At a height of 2-3 m there is a platform with a cafe, a massage parlor.

Candidasa beach. Calm, black and rocky, not suitable for a beach holiday. A highlight of Chandidas is the absolute beach front private villas with infinity pools and azure ocean views. "Beach front" - a villa or hotel where foreign tourists are allowed to rest on the beach. Option "absolute" assumes personal access to the sea.

Beaches of East and North Bali

Bali's black sand beaches are the northern and eastern island territories.

Amed beach is rocky and "black". The sea is calm. Corals and exotic animals are found already 5 m from the coastline, so snorkelling is excellent here.

Tulamben beach was chosen by “submariners” -divers. Object for beginners - a sunken ship 30 meters offshore.

White Sand beach is a white-sandy strip with black sandy-volcanic blotches. Sea water is transparent, there are no waves. The beach is not crowded due to its remoteness from the centers of Balinese tourism. There are a dozen cozy restaurants and cafes; they provide their guests with umbrellas, towels, snorkelling equipment, sun loungers for free. In the east of the island, it is the only beach suitable for swimming and sunbathing. Picturesque rocks are natural beach border... There is no housing near the beach.

The wide beaches of the north of Bali are united by the name Lovina beach. There is a yellow-sandy shore with black, gray volcanic sand. The ocean is not worried, housing is available. Nice beach for kids. There are always fresh seafood in cafes and restaurants. A walk to the dolphins is one of the most attractive beach activities... For this, boats go out to sea from the pier of Lovina.

The beaches of northwest Bali are located near the village of Pemuteran, far from civilization.

Hotels with private beach

"Private beaches". They can be accessed through the hotel. But, not being a guest of the hotel, this is problematic. Among the hotels with own beach- Samabe resort in Nusa Dua.

The beach of Ayana Resort and Spa has its own pier and an unusual Rock Bar on the rocky shore.

The simple hotel Pondok Vienna Beach and the beach of the same name are located in the village of Bunutan. Leaving the room, walking 15-20 steps along the black-and-white sand, you find yourself in the sea. But the price of the room is much more expensive.

Secluded beaches

The long and wild Nyang Nyang Beach is popular with surfers. You can get to it by going down the stairs from the cliff, passing through tropical thickets, overcoming more than 500 steps. White sand and the endless blue-turquoise ocean. In some places the bottom, similar to the lunar landscape, is rocky with notches.

Deserted, almost wild Nyang Nyang beach. In some places the coast is sandy with shells. There is no infrastructure. Suitable for lovers of secluded relaxation, fans of relaxation. Walking and sunbathing are great activities at this beach, but there are no facilities for swimming. Beach for surfers. But there are few of them and they ride 100 m from the coast.

Secret beaches

Near Jimbaran, under a sheer cliff, there is a small secret beach called Secret Beach. Rocky bottom and strong waves are at the bottom. Above, you can see a mountainous cliff, foamy waves and an azure ocean. Rugged by waves, but photogenic cobblestones in many places are overgrown with moss. A romantic place to shoot weddings.

Another "Secret beach". Near Padang Bai settlement. The white sandy Bias Tugal beach will appeal to families with children, divers and fans of green ecotourism.

Bali's beaches are worth a touch of the irresistible world of Asian exoticism.

Bali beaches are not quite what tourists usually expect from them 😎 This is not the Maldives ... and there are not many Bounty-style beaches, you still need to look for them! More often on Paradise Island come for surfing, nature and authenticity, rather than for a beach holiday. Therefore, before buying plane tickets, type in the coordinates best beaches in Bali to map maps.me and rent a bike or a car

For the discoverers of beach Bali, I advise you to take an individual excursion with a Russian guide -

I will show photos of Bali beaches from two vacations - December 2016 and 2017. Recommendations are my subjective nice beaches there is more, but I did not go there for a tan, I spent most of my time in the jungle, rice fields and simple relaxation. MY BEACH MAP

WHITE SAND BEACHES IN SOUTH BALI

Jimbaran Beach

It is located near the Denpasar airport, the sand is white fine, the bottom is gently sloping, large waves were not noticed. The water temperature in the ocean feels like + 28. I advise you to choose the left side of the beach for swimming, in GoogleMaps it is Pantai muaya , we parked the car for free near the temple (-8.782889, 115.161914). By the way, drive in all coordinates with a minus sign, since Bali is located below the equator. Sun beds for money, but we did not take. We sat down on the chairs of my grandmother who sells coconuts and beer. In the distance, the photo shows a luxurious bungalow. My photo with coconut was taken on Jimbaran beach

Jimbaran Beach is also known for fish restaurants, they are located closer to its center, choose any one by looking into indoor aquariums with catch. People gather at 17 to take the trump seats and enjoy the sunset (in winter it is at 18:30). The price tag for seafood and fish is average, but closer to the European one, but keep in mind + 15% of the tax and + for the service above.

The Denpasar airport runway is clearly visible to the right of the fish restaurants, and planes land here every 5 minutes. They also sell corn and musicians entertain guests with songs in all languages of the world. For us, the Balinese have chosen for some reason "A glass of vodka on the table." I paid them 50 thousand rupees (3 euros)

Pantai tegal wangi jimbaran
There is a secluded wild cove very close ( -8.781397, 115.141482) 🌊 Besides us, there were also several romantic couples hiding behind rocks from the sun and spectators Andrey frolicked in the ocean, looked like a child, this was his first swim in the Indian Ocean 🏊

The shore there is rocky, I did not find a place for sunbathing and there were big waves, but the place is damn beautiful and wild. Maybe it's quieter at low tide

Balangan beach
Balangan beach- one of the most photogenic beaches, so many wedding photographers hang out on the cape (-8.790441, 115.125056). The ceremonies are symbolic, with a wedding arch, a white dress - obviously just for the sake of a photo session.

If you go down to the beach from the opposite end (-8.793569, 115.122900), then you will find yourself in a simple eatery, you can immediately rent a board. But the entrance to the sea here is unpleasant, let the photo with white sand fascinate you ... but there are many boulders in the water, and the waves knock you off your feet. This place is more for surfing.

I have been here twice, and I cannot say that it is pleasant to swim. On the other side of the beach, we found a place where we could swim near the shore.

Canggu Beach
We lived in this town for 5 days, having booked a hotel room Sunset Villa Bali, which was deserted due to a recent volcanic eruption. For 800 rubles a day for 2 people we got complete privacy, comfort and a pool with a kitchen. In the morning we had breakfast at Hungry bird coffee, what a gorgeous cappuccino there! By the way, this link will give you 20 € as a gift for your first booking on Arnbnb.

We lived 7 minutes walk from Finns Beach Club, the beach there is long, there are many small bars where you can lie in exchange for juice and beer. The sand here is no longer white, but gray, but pleasant for walking. And swimming in Canggu is difficult because of the big waves, but it is a great place for surfing.

Andrey rented the board - 50 thousand rupees (3 euros) for 2 hours for Batu Balong Beach

A small video review of these beaches

Gala's Beach or Nikko Beach
These beaches are very close ( on the map), there are respectable hotels along the road. And it was the best beach in Bali, moreover, deserted, there were no waves near the ocean, white sand of coral origin under our feet 🏜 We parked our car at the temple (-8.833364, 115.213052) and went down the steep steps.

We found a deserted cave to relax in the shade, where there were sun loungers from a luxury hotel 🏖 and we brazenly used them! We swam with a mask, picked up seashells, listened to the sound of the ocean waves 🌊🐚🐳 I never ceased to thank the Agung volcano for the deserted Bali in December 😘 If you compare my vacation in 2016 and in 2017, then the island then and now is heaven and earth! 👏 If you are afraid to drive a bike and a car on the island, I advise you to take an individual excursion. Affordable accommodations close to Nikko Beach - or the chic The Ritz-Carlton Bali

In slow motion I shot a video about the best beach in Bali, in our opinion

And I want to say a few more words about worst white sand beaches in Bali:

  1. Sanur beach! I didn't even take a photo, there is a swamp, not the sea, swimming in shallow water with algae is still a pleasure. Don't waste your vacation at a retirement resort ...
  2. Padang Padang Beach, where the film "Eat, Pray, Love" was filmed (report about it here). In the photo it seems that this is a heavenly place, but there were so many people that they did not get a buzz. Turbid water, although the entrance is pleasantly sloping. The entrance is paid - 10 thousand rupees (70 euro cents), parking is paid, the cafe on the beach is sloppy, dirty. After visiting the crowded popular tourist places in Bali, Andrey and I decided to go only to little-known and natural beauties

In the video you will see a real picture from Padang Padang Beach

Black sand beaches in Bali

Lipah Beach in Amed
We went to the north of Bali not for the beaches, but for the peace and low prices. It's funny, but this edge is underdeveloped, asphalt was laid only in the early 2000s. But we really liked the calm sea, however, it is a little colder Indian Ocean(maybe +26). We booked a room in Bayu Cottages Hotel for 12 euros for two with breakfast, and were alone again! Of course, in season and not with an erupting volcano, it is more expensive 😜 The Bali Sea is ideal for swimming, fishing, snorkeling and diving. We rested on Lipakh Beach, a secluded cove with an incredible underwater world! The color of the sand is black, it is very fine, but at the entrance to the sea there is white sand, so the water is clear.

If this is your first time booking accommodation on Arnbnb - use discount $ 25

The same Lipah beach sunny morning. Check out the transparency and calmness!

From Ubud, we got here at least 2 hours along narrow roads and jungle, renting a car for 10 euros per day. I can also advise taking an excursion to the north of Bali to see Amed, swim on the beach, visit the water palaces and the Lempuyang temple overlooking. We saw him splashing around in the hotel pool. From there you can see the sea, and it takes 15 seconds to go down to it.

The most interesting thing in Amed is snorkeling. We had our own snorkel mask, but here every little boy offers them for rent. So are the boats. Also, for 300 thousand rupees (18 euros), you can go fishing at dawn. Diving enthusiasts also come here to dive to sunken ships.

The big plus of the north of Bali over the tourist south was the cheap fish. Once bought from a fisherman from a boat for 50 thousand 3 pieces (3 euros). And then all the days we ate in Amed restore, I ordered mackerel with rice and vegetables for only 2 euros

Beach at Les Village

In the Tejakula area, we settled in an amazing hotel with a diving center Sea Communities - Segara Lestari Villas, we were brought in by accident thanks to Arnbnbi, after reading the reviews. Everything is fine in Less Village - the silence, the lack of tourists and the integrity of the locals, huge portions food from the hostess for dinner, coconut, mango and rambutan plantations, the sound of the sea even in our room. But no beach although the black sand mixed with huge stones did not frighten the local children, they swam. We lived in the eco-village for 5 days, and still were satisfied with the "other Bali"

Lovina beach in Bali
The beaches in the north of Bali are generally not encouraging, there are only a few civilized and suitable for swimming. We read about Lovina in the north of Bali, arrived, and there is a shallow, muddy and gray sea, the Sea of Azov ... On the map we found a civilized beach for swimming - Spice Beach Club Bali, having paid a fresh watermelon as much as 3 euros, the sea here was not happy either, but they used sun loungers and a toilet.

Locals pestered boat rentals to watch dolphins, but I see them in Montenegro in the Tivat Bay, where we have a yacht moored. We left Lovina to swim in the hot springs

Bathing beaches in Bali in the east

Few of the tourist package tourists realize that in the east of the island there are wonderful beaches with white sand and no waves. This is also the Bali Sea, not an ocean.

Beach Blue Lagoon on Bali Is a must see place. The road from Ubud here is not difficult, there are few cars, the track is wide in places (-8.529756, 115.513304

This beach is located a 2-minute drive from the famous Padangbei pier, from where boats leave for the paradise islands of Gili. We never got to them, but the beach holiday there is much more luxurious!

Secret beach in Bali or Bias Tugel Beach
It is located on the other side of Padangbei. Incredibly beautiful white sand beach, few people, silence and romantic atmosphere. Parking is free, then you need to wade through the jungle along the path, it is better to be in shoes. I was there in 2016 - this is one of the best beaches in Bali without waves with a clear sea, which tourists know little about.

I hope that my stories about Bali and photos of the beaches will help organize your trip to the paradise island correctly 😄 Whatever rumors go about the beaches of Bali - that it is not possible to swim, they are dirty or are only suitable for surfers - remember that you always have a choice, the main thing is the maps.me map on the phone, and under the booty there is a bike or car seat 🚙 since there is no public transport on the island

Where to buy insurance in Bali - which one is better

Nobody forces you to spend extra money on insurance in Bali, whether to buy it or not is your own business, they do not check at the airport ... But remember that Indonesia is a different climate, water and food, almost everyone in Bali has indigestion from Indonesian kitchens. Here you can catch Dengue fever with the bite of one type of mosquito and wallow with fever and vomiting for a week or two. And no one is safe from small DPs or falling off the bike, given the left-hand traffic and the creepy traffic on the island.

I would recommend buying insurance in Bali from a company. Their assistance in Russia is Mondial, which recently changed its name to Allianz Global Assistance. Believe me, this is the most reliable in the insurance industry, the main office is in Paris. This is the only assistance with the “AA” rating of Standard & Poor’s, it is he who will save you on the island in insured events, as well as pay for your treatment. You can check the price of insurance in Bali in this form by entering the flight dates and the country Indonesia.

The rainy season in Bali 2018

Winter is the rainy season in Bali, although we saw them a little, more often they come at night. The temperature is comfortable all year round and does not rise above +31, but it is humid. In the north of the island, in the Amed region, there is much less rain than in the center in the Ubud region, where the jungle is, due to the fact that volcanoes do not let clouds to the north. In the south of the island, it also rains less often in winter than in Ubud, but the ocean is stuffy and hot.

It is better to fly to Bali in spring and early autumn, and in summer - the peak of the tourist season, there is little rainfall, but there are many tourists and high prices.

Tickets to Bali - how much does it cost to fly to the island

Please note that we flew not from Moscow, but from Montenegro, and this is an additional plane, so the flight was more expensive. We spent 1,545 euros for two people on Turkish Airlines on the Podgorica - Istanbul - Jakarta section. Thanks to the two hotels in transit, I consider it a low price, although Qatar Airlines (from Belgrade) or Singapore Airlines (from Milan) were cheaper. And from the capital of Indonesia to Denpasar airport, it took another 200 euros round-trip.

From Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg and Belgrade, you can fly to Bali by Qatar Airlines, Singapore Airlines or Emirates

Bali's best beaches are the perfect place for relaxation, meditation, relaxation and extreme entertainment. To spend their holidays here, hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world go to one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia. Bali beaches are clean sand or white pebbles, picturesque landscapes, high cliffs and an amazingly beautiful ocean, the color of the water in which is striking in the number of shades. Many of the island's beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to the high waves and ripple currents that can carry swimmers into the ocean, but there are also beautiful shores where the sea is relatively calm and comfortable.

White sand

The beach got its name thanks to the white sand, which was brought here specially to improve the territory and attract travelers. Over time, the sand was washed out and now the coast has a more grayish tint, and sometimes there are absolutely black areas.

White Sand cannot be called an equipped beach, although sun loungers and umbrellas are installed on its territory. Rather, it is wild, and no one especially watches over the cleanliness of the coastline. In different parts of the coastline, you can see algae washed ashore by waves, as well as cacti lying on the ground falling from a sheer cliff.

There is a coral reef on the right side of White Sand that attracts scuba diving and underwater watching enthusiasts. The sea is calmer than on other beaches, but there are still waves. You can have lunch or just a snack in several cafes right on the beach, which are owned by the residents of Chandidasa. A motorway leads from Sanur to the beach, turning from which in the direction of Chandidasa, you will have to drive off-road for several kilometers.

“Fabulous beach! Very beautiful coastline! The sand is not white, but it is still more pleasant to relax here than on other Bali beaches. Local residents are very sociable, trying to play with the children of vacationers. Everything in a cafe is very expensive. "

Jemeluk Bay

The beach is located next to the village of the same name in a picturesque bay. This is one of best places for diving in Bali. There are many coral reefs here that attract scuba divers with their beauty and uniqueness.

The entire Jemeluk Bay beach is covered with fine white pebbles. Its territory is not too large, but it allows you to comfortably sit on a lounger or mattress, which are rented by local residents. The ocean on this part of the coast is pretty quiet. Strong waves are rare enough.

The necessary tourist and resort infrastructure facilities are located near the beach: rental of equipment for water sports, hotels, cafes, shops, car parking. Due to the fact that the sea in this place is calm, and there are almost no significant low tides, the coastline is not littered with algae and other debris. The calm water is very clear and it is a pleasure to swim in it.

“We really enjoyed relaxing on this beach. The pebbles are small, you can walk without shoes, there were no strong waves, the sea is calm and clean. Standing in the water, you see your legs and the bottom. Excellent service in cafes that are located nearby. Tried all sorts of seafood delicacies. I recommend this small but very cozy beach. "

Dreamland

Locals say that once a traveler from Italy, a professional surfer, rested on this beach. He was so struck by the tall waves of emerald color, approaching Sandy shore that he decided to call it "Dream Land".

Dreamland is a very popular beach among tourists. The sand that is pleasant for walking and the rapidly developing infrastructure make it possible to relax comfortably while enjoying the picturesque view of the ocean. The beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas that can be rented. Near the beach and on its territory, vacationers can eat in a cafe and restaurant, order drinks in several bars.

You can rarely see swimmers here. The wave is too high to be safe in the water. But the beach traditionally attracts surfers. Next to Dreamland there is a large hotel where you can stay, as well as several bungalows and villas for rent. You can get to the beach by road following signs from Kuta town.
The journey will take about half an hour.

“Great beach to spend time in nature, sunbathe and relax. The sun beds are comfortable, the umbrellas are large. It is unrealistically difficult to swim here, as the wave covers you with your head. They say that during low tides the sea is calmer, but we did not manage to catch this phenomenon. "

Green bowl

An incredibly beautiful beach of dark golden sand on the Bukit Peninsula. A narrow coastal strip is located under a high cliff, and several hundred steep steps lead to the beach. This beach is considered very dangerous for swimming. It's all about the rebound wave, which often occurs in the coastal zone of the ocean. Its peculiarity is that a strong current of a person pulls a wide channel and can carry it into the open ocean.

Green Bowl is a wild beach, not devoid of some of the resort charms that are located on the top of the cliff. Here tourists are greeted by enterprising Balinese, selling souvenirs, selling various drinks and food. This beach is preferred by lovers of relaxation away from civilization, as well as surfers who use the rip current to get on the line up.

At high tide, the coast is completely covered by the ocean waters and at this time it is impossible to rest here. But the golden sand dries quickly at low tide and is ready to welcome tourists again. The best way to get to the beach is by car or even by bike. From Kuta, a trip by road will take 35-40 minutes.

“We came to this beach out of curiosity. We were told that monkeys walk around here, there are many surfers and the ocean is incredibly beautiful. The information was confirmed. While descending from the cliff along a huge number of steps, we saw enough of wild monkeys. There are, however, a lot of surfers. You can only admire the ocean, it is impossible to swim here because of the high waves, and even forbidden. "

Bias Tegul

Bias Tegul Beach is located near Padangbai Port. To find it, you need to go through a small forest grove. The secluded beach is perfect for swimming and quiet rest... It is also called secret because of its location hidden from human eyes.

The coast is covered with soft, pleasant to the touch sand. Despite the proximity to the port, which is constantly visited by ships, the water here is crystal clear. Every now and then slowly rolls to the shore a snow-white line of foam, which is created by a soft wave.

There are several warungs on the beach - thatched-roof cafes where locals cook and sell food. The beach has an interesting feature. The cliffs located on the shore have small caves that regularly get water. Squeezed out by the accumulated air, it crumbles into a fountain of spray that rises several meters in height - an incredible sight.

Even during the peak season, there are no numerous tourists here. The beach is quite difficult to find by making your way from the port along a narrow mountain path.

“Great beach with fine light sand and very beautiful scenery. Surrounded by mountains, it seems to be hiding from prying eyes so that tourists do not find it and violate such beauty. The water here seemed a little colder than on other beaches, but, getting used to it, it splashed a lot! ".

Kuta

One of the best beaches in Kuta. It is famous for its long coastline of golden sand. A lot of tourists always rest here, who want to soak up the hot Indonesian sun and enjoy the clean, warm water.

Kuta Beach stretches along the coast for 8 km. Its strip is wide enough to accommodate many sun loungers with umbrellas, which are arranged in several rows. Excellent infrastructure attracts not only foreigners vacationing in Kuta, but also its residents.

Surfing is possible on the beach. Experienced instructors teach the art of boarding the waves. For a small fee, you can go to the massage parlor, of which there are several dozen on the beach, or order drinks in the bars.

The city embankment runs along the coast - a favorite place for tourists to walk. There is everything that a vacationer may need - cafes, restaurants, shops, souvenir shops. Kuta Beach is famous for its magnificent sunsets, which tourists come to see especially.

“We rested in Kuta and visited this beach several times. It is very large, but there are a lot of tourists, so you need to arrive early to find a free sun lounger. The merchants are very annoying, they don't care that you lie and sunbathe with your eyes closed, bother and offer their products. But the beach itself is very beautiful, clean and comfortable. "

Mengiat

The beach is located on the south coast of Bali. The wide sandy strip stretching along the coast attracts many tourists. From Kuta you can come here by bus or by renting a car or bike.

Mengiat is a clean, well-equipped beach with excellent infrastructure. Despite its popularity among foreign tourists, it is not as crowded as the beaches of Kuta. A free lounger can always be found and accommodated on it by paying a small rental fee.

The sea on this beach is calm and comfortable for swimming throughout the high tourist season. A large number of coral reefs protect it from strong waves. From the coast, the sea has an unusually beautiful color - a mixture of azure and emerald. Garbage and algae are carefully cleaned by the staff. On Mengiat you can go in for active water activities, have lunch or have a light snack in a cafe, use the services of massage parlors.

“A wonderful place to relax on the beach, sunbathe and swim without discomfort. The sea is very beautiful, the entrance is not too steep, and in some parts of the beach it is completely flat, which allows the kids to splash around. "

Jimbaran Beach

One of the best beaches in the south of Bali. It is located in a beautiful bay with a picturesque view, modern hotels and villas. Quite a wide coastline allows a large number of tourists and vacationers to comfortably settle down. The beach is more than 5 km long.

The entrance to the sea on the entire beach is very shallow, and the depth near the coast is small, which allows you to enjoy water activities not only for adults, but also for children. The bottom is very clean and sandy. The cleanliness and order on the beach itself is carefully monitored. There is no rubbish here.

Jimbaran Beach and its vacationers are served by several restaurants and cafes located on the shore. You can sit in the shade of the awnings or order food directly from the sun lounger. Basically, seafood dishes are prepared here, which are handed over to restaurants by fishermen. In the early morning they can be seen returning with their catch. Lovers boat trips can use the services of local residents, who will arrange an excursion on the flat surface of the sea on their own boats.

“Great place for a family vacation. We rested in a hotel near the beach and enjoyed this beauty every day. The sea is calm, clean, the beach is spacious, equipped. The entrance for the hotel guests was free. I liked that, if you wish, they will immediately bring you drinks or food from local cafes. "

Balangan

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula near the city of Jimbaran. It is a narrow sandy strip along the coast, 700 meters long. At the northern end of the beach, the ocean deepens high rock, which often hosts wedding photo sessions. Balangan is a popular surf slot.

Even during the peak season, there are not too many vacationers on the beach. Basically, guests of local hotels sunbathe here, less often visitors. There are many varungs along the coast, where seafood is prepared. Climbing the mountain along the stone steps, vacationers get to the picturesque territory, where there are several hotels and villas.

Swimming in Balangan is not very convenient because of the high waves. On rare days, with calmer waters, tourists splash along the coast, but such entertainment is considered quite dangerous, especially since there are no lifeguards on the beach. The most comfortable place for swimming is the northern part of the beach by the cliff. The sand on the coastline is fine and clean. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for the convenience of vacationers.

“Take the time to travel and be sure to visit this beach. Even when descending from the mountain, you can inspect the entire coastal strip - long, with yellow sand, it bends in an arc, as if embracing the ocean. There are many inexpensive varungs on the beach where you can have a hearty lunch. It is difficult to swim, but it is very interesting to watch the surfers. "

Padangbai Beach

A small cozy beach surrounded by rocks with lush green vegetation. The entire coastline is pure white sand. Padangbai Beach is considered to be one of the best beaches in Bali, where it is pleasant to relax and spend time. In addition, it is a popular surf slot for both experienced surfers and beginners alike.

There are several warungs on the coastline, where they cook and sell dishes from fresh seafood caught in the ocean in the morning. Drinks can also be ordered here. Rescuers are closely watching the vacationers.

The water in the ocean is often calm, long waves slowly roll onto the shore. It is better to swim on the left side of the bank. There are no umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach. Vacationers sit right on the sand, on the rugs and towels brought with them.

Padangbai Beach is famous for the fact that it filmed several episodes of the famous film "Still Pray Love" with Julia Roberts. Since the release of the movie, Padangbai Beach has grown in popularity. For those who do not like a lot of people on the beach, it is best to come here in the morning and afternoon.

“The water is warm, the waves are not high, the sand is fine and pleasant. A wonderful beach in a cozy cove with a beautiful landscape. It is not always possible to swim, but we managed to enjoy the clear water of an unusually beautiful color to our fullest. Only pleasant impressions! "

Bali welcomes tourists all year round. There are no four seasons familiar to Europeans. During the winter months, the weather is just as comfortable as in the summer, but this is the rainy season. Showers are short-lived and most often occur in the evening and at night. The most popular period for travelers is from May to October. The air temperature at this time is kept at around +33 degrees, and the water warms up to +26. it best months to not only spend time on the picturesque beaches, but also get to know the local culture.

The beach is lost because it is not so easy to "stumble" over it while walking along the coast. For a long time, tourists did not know the amazing Perasi Beach. It goes without saying that it is not a discovery of the century for the Balinese. For them, in general, the beach is not a place to chill with a cocktail. The ocean is the element with which the locals come in contact to carry out religious rituals. Nevertheless, the beach has been found and let's explore it. Its local name was quickly forgotten, and it was replaced by the associative Hidden Beach (lost beach), Virgin Beach (virgin beach), White Sand (white sand, which sounds like Pasir Putih in Indonesian). The name White Sand quickly became established in reviews and travel guides.

Looking for this secluded place it is worth familiarizing yourself with the names of nearby settlements. This secluded coastline is located between the two hills and villages of Bugbug and Perasi of the Karangasem Regency, about 4.5 kilometers from the well-known village of Chandidasa.

Even that is not enough to easily travel to the beach. Your way there lies with main square Chandidasa village, continues towards Jalan Raja Candidasa-Bugbug, from where you come to Perasi village. The temple (Pura) Bale Agung serves as a landmark. If you come from Candidasa, he will be on your left. From here, trekking awaits you (descent along a rocky and dirt road, or off-road - as you wish) about 1 kilometer long. On the way, luckily for us, there are signs.

And here is the long-awaited sight. Your gaze overlooks the perfectly calm waves of the Bali Sea, the island of Gili Biaha can be seen in the distance, and the sand, although called white, contains black volcanic veins. The serene waves and soft sand are contrasted with giant boulders that protect the beach from the direct wind.

There is where to park here. The "virgin beach" is quickly mastered by both travelers and organizers of various services. For dining, there is already a choice of a dozen cafes (warung), which will provide you with umbrellas and couches. There are also services for organizing fishing, sailing excursions, and scuba diving.
