Many interesting articles have been written by those who travel. I would like to stand out and write as a person directly living in another country for those who are just going on a trip to us, to Argentina. I would like to recommend what you can see here, except for the "beaten tourist routes"across Argentina.

Cordoba- the second largest city in Argentina with a population of about 2 million people, was founded in 1573. In 1613 the Jesuits founded the National University, which is the oldest in the country.

Cordoba is the center of the Argentine aviation industry. Mechanical engineering, food and leather industries are developed in the province of Cordoba. In the center of Cordoba, there are preserved Jesuit buildings, a church, a university, a school, which became the object World heritage UNESCO. Since 2006, the Russian city of Izhevsk has become twinned with Cordoba.

The most pleasant thing for a tourist who comes to Cordoba is to wander the streets of the old quarters. All the sights of the city are concentrated nearby. There are many reasons to visit Cordoba: art, history, nature, sports, investment and gastronomy. Great amount the most beautiful museums and exhibitions, canvases and sculptures of famous masters - all this you can see when you come to this amazing city... After tasting a delicious and fresh steak and raising a glass of amazingly delicious red wine to your friends, you will literally fall in love with this city and this country!

The province of Cordoba itself is the concentration of all the finest in nature on Earth. I'd named Cordoba one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the whole South America ... Rivers and lakes, waterfalls and dams, mountains with their flora and fauna, wonderful fishing and hunting is all Cordoba!

The province of Cordoba has numerous small tourist cities surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes. This is one of the traditional tourist places, where the population of Argentina comes to spend their holidays, fish and breathe in the healing clean mountain air. What attracts people here and what can you find here?

I want to make a reservation right away that in the province of Cordoba you will not find anything fashionable or super modern. The province is dotted with small towns with low buildings and narrow streets. In most places, the city center is 3-4 squares with commercial locations along the sidewalk. Leaving these central streets is not worth it, you will not see anything attractive. Except for private houses, built individually, depending on the taste of the owners. The original facades of the houses and the plots of land in front of them, decorated with palm trees, variegated bushes and various flowers in pots, are a beautiful sight and create an impression of comfort and tranquility ...

Considering the peculiarities of the mountain air and marvelous Beautiful places, tourists come here in huge numbers. Municipalities of small cities, towns and settlements come up with a variety of holidays, festivals, concerts and fairs for their region, thus attracting the tourist masses. However, all this is mainly in summer period when children are out of school. Locals so they say that they earn only in the summer, and in the winter they are forced to be bored and eat up what they earned during the season. It shouldn't be surprising that in summer prices skyrocket not only for hotel rooms.

Here list of the largest events:

Those lucky ones who bought tickets in advance can enjoy the songs and dances of their favorite performers in comfortable armchairs, drink beer, wine or soda and have a snack on sausages, grilled meat or Milanese carried around by helpful waiters. We even have here your little sea, Mar Chiquita... Those who "cannot afford" to go to Mar del Plata come here. The coastal town's website and photos can be viewed here. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, it is possible to organize fishing or visit museums here (the scope is certainly not the same as in an international resort, but the prices are also appropriate).

You can also visit National Park Parque Nacional Quebrada del Condorito located high in the mountains, 90 km from Cordoba and 55 from Carlos Paz. The bird's-eye view, as well as the many condors soaring in the lowlands below you, are mesmerizing. You can come here by bus from Cordoba, or by car to Carlos Paz, then along Carcano Street, leave the city and move in the direction of Altas Cumbres (there is evidence that after heavy rains and snowfalls it is better not to enter there).

: From the province of Jujuy we headed to Cordoba, the third largest city in Argentina after Buenos Aires and Rosario. We can say they returned to civilization. Cordoba was founded in 1573, the full name is Cordoba de la Nueva Andalusia.
Arriving at the station, we found a "touristic center", where we were given city maps and a list of hostels and hotels. In general, the service for tourists in Argentina is very developed - in every city there is tourist centers with English-speaking employees (with rare exceptions, as in Iruya)), they give a map and any information free of charge. Therefore, even without prior booking and a very rough plan of action (having only a scheduled route on a daily basis, which changed, depending on the circumstances), we felt calm. 1. In the center we were asked which area we would like to live in, and noted in the list of hotels closest to our location. We decided not to settle far from the station. In the second hotel, we found a room suitable for the price and quality. We settled down and went for a walk.

2. Our hotel was equidistant from the station and from the center of Cordoba - all within walking distance. While they were settling, it got dark. But the people on the streets did not diminish from this.

3. Cordoba has a lot of colonial-style buildings. According to the Internet, this is what attracts a lot of tourists here.

4. Shadow from the monument to an important caballero - Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera, founder of Cordoba.

5. Walking in the evening, I didn’t even try to remember which buildings we saw and which of them it would be necessary to go during the day.

6. In the center of Cordoba there is a large pedestrian area. There are no cars - which is great.

7. The next day, after breakfast, we went to look for a specific Cathedral of the Inglesia de Los Capuchinos or the Basilica of the Capuchins. Very gothic cathedral and very beautiful.

8. Organ music is playing inside and pigeons are flying under the arches. You can walk everywhere. There is no ban on photography either. The most interesting thing is that when there are no prohibitions, people, on the contrary, behave very correctly. When we entered, there were schoolchildren, tourists, and worshipers, but no one bothered anyone.

9. On the way to the center we passed many interesting buildings.

10. And just like in, a combination of old buildings and new buildings.

11. In daylight, everything looks different than in the evening. And although we walked around the entire center the previous evening, there was a feeling that we were here for the first time.

12. Church of the Compañia de Jesus - The oldest church in Argentina.

13. This same church. I shamelessly flunked the frame, but I really like it :). Then I stood, stood, took takes, straightened the horizon, but the figures did not add up.

14. We remembered the restaurant from the evening, and came to have lunch the next day. True, lunch began at 7 pm - siesta, everything opens after 6 pm. We ordered black Quilmes beer, which was already beloved by that time, and parilletu - a dish for two. They brought us 2 empty plates and one common one in which lay: 2 pieces of chicken, 2 pieces of blood sausage, 2 chorizos (sausages) and bread. We were depressed, because we wanted to eat very much, and the restaurant was expensive. Check with the waitress, this is a dish for two, she is si. We were completely depressed, they picked up the sauce from the plate with bread. And then there was the 2nd part of the Marlezon ballet, which we had no idea about - grilled ribs. It was so tasty and a lot that we took the leftovers with us and dined on them the next day.

15. You cross this street and find yourself in a pedestrian zone.

16. Square in front of the courthouse of Cordoba.

17. And this is a suburb of Cordoba - Villa Carlos Paz. It is considered to be a very prestigious place, such as resort area... Windsurfing on the lake. We have not seen this - not the season.

18. The city is not very interesting - solid villas. They are very friendly people who themselves volunteer to help you on the street if you are standing with a map in your hands and cannot figure out where to go. The town also has a funicular, a park with a small train on the top of the mountain and observation deck.

19. A shock of branches on a tree is a nest of parrots. Green parrots of medium size here, like our sparrows - that's who you can look at for hours 🙂

To be continued…

The Church of the Sacred Heart is one of the most striking and interesting sights of the Argentine city of Cordoba. Impressive in its appearance, built in the Gothic style, the building constantly attracts the attention of tourists.

The construction of the church began in 1926, and was completed only in 1934. The construction of the church was carried out under the direction of the Italian architect Augusto Ferrari.

The architecture of the building not only looks impressive, but is also quite symbolic. The church has two towers, symbolizing the duality of humanity - a truncated tower indicates human imperfection, and the spire crowning the second tower symbolizes his soul.
