The relief of the region has, in the main, the features of a slightly undulating plain, which are usual for the central part of Russia, on which river valleys, ravines and gullies are drawn. The peculiarity of the relief is - and this is of great interest for guests of the Tula region - that the encountered karst forms are the reason for the formation of craters, hollows and even caves, like near the city of Venev.
The continental climate of these places is temperate with rather cold winters ( average temperature January -10оС) and warm summer(average July temperature + 20 ° C), so the local recreation centers do not remain without clients either in summer or in winter, since each pronounced time of the year has its own fans.
For those who come to the tourist centers of the Tula region in the summer, the presence of reservoirs is important. There are plenty of places for swimming in the local area, since quite a lot of rivers flow through the territory of the region. The main one is the Oka, along which navigation is even possible, as well as its tributaries Zusha, Ula and Sturgeon. Another major water artery is the Don, the sources of which are located in the east of the region, with tributaries flowing into it. Let's note an important point for those who like fishing. Freezing up on the Tula rivers begins in the second half of November. There are few lakes in the region. The largest of them are Volovo and Zhupel. However, the lack of lakes is more than compensated for by a rather large number of reservoirs, such as Pronskoe, Cherepetskoe, Shchekinskoe and others. If, having arrived in these parts, you are going to fish, then at the recreation centers, which are always close to water bodies, they will advise you best places, where you will be able to get great pleasure by catching roach, perch, burbot, pike, bream and crucian carp.
Forests, to which all Tula tourist centers and recreation centers always gravitate, extend over 13% of the region's territory and consist mainly of deciduous trees such as aspen, birch and oak. In areas bordering the forest-steppe, the composition of forests changes: linden, maple, and ash appear in them. Any hunter understands that where there is a forest, there are also animals living in it. Such animals include wolves, foxes, elks, wild boars, roe deer, hares, as well as birds - ducks and waders.
You cannot visit the Tula region and not visit its attractions, since any vacation is always full only when it is supplemented with new impressions and positive emotions. One of interesting excursions organized by Tula recreation centers for their guests is a trip to Tula, which is one of the oldest Russian cities founded in 1146. During a tour of Tula, they show many interesting sights, which can be serious, and sometimes not very much. Such curious sights are, for example, the building of the first sobering-up station in Russia, the monument to Khvost and the “drunken corner”. It is interesting to see the exhibits in the museum of Tula samovars and Tula gingerbread. In the last one you can also drink tea and taste this famous Tula sweetness. A must-see place in the Tula region is Yasnaya Polyana inextricably linked with the name of L.N. Tolstoy. It was here that Tolstoy was born, it was here that most of his life passed. And here he remained forever: the grave of the writer, as he asked during his lifetime, is on the edge of a ravine located in the forest. Equally obligatory and interesting on the Tula land is a visit to the famous Kulikov Field with its Forgiven Well, the holy water of which, according to legend, Dmitry Donskoy washed the wounds of the soldiers. Above the Forgiven Well, in memory of the Russian heroes who died here, the Savior Chapel was erected, where there are bas-relief icons of the Mother of God, the Savior Not Made by Hands and St. Sergius of Radonezh. Next to the chapel there are fonts for ablution in the water consecrated by the Patriarch of Moscow. Excursions to the village of Dvoryaninovo, where the estate of the first Russian agronomist Bolotov is located, are also interesting. I suggest that visitors not only view the exhibits of the estate museum, but also drink tea, swim in ponds, and purchase medicinal herbs. You should never refuse an excursion to the village of Dedilovo. It was here that the ancient city Vyatichi, founded in 1146 and then called Dedislavl. A powerful wooden fortress was also built here, surrounded by moats. The settlement, which remained from those glorious times, is still preserved near the present Dedilov.
There are also numerous holy places where guests of the recreation center of the Tula region are offered to visit. The place, known for a long time for numerous pilgrims, is the village of Turteni, located 160 km from administrative center area. According to legend, this village owes its appearance precisely to the holy spring, where pilgrims constantly come now. The existing legend says that a long time ago a girl found an icon of the Mother of God at the source, for which a church was erected, and later people began to settle around this church. This is how the village of Turten was born. The properties of the holy water itself are also legendary. Bathing in water relieves colds for a long time, it heals stomach ulcers. Children in these places, who constantly consume this water, almost never get sick, and women claim that their skin is getting younger. Pilgrims also like to visit the monasteries and convents in Belev, erected in 1147 on the banks of the Oka. On the territory of these monasteries there are numerous churches, which contain a large number of Orthodox shrines.

The recreation center "Dawn on the Oka" is located in a relict pine forest on the banks of the Oka River. The descent to the river is gentle, there is a wide sand beach... The paths between the cottages are lined with cuts (rings) of pine logs. The territory of the base is more than 6 hectares. There is not a single major highway nearby, which will provide a great outdoor recreation, peace and quiet.
The base has 30 "summer" and 10 "winter" four-bed cottages. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen-living room and an open veranda. The bedroom has comfortable wooden beds with a set of bed linen and warm blankets. In the kitchen there is a refrigerator, a gas stove, a set of dishes and cutlery. Near each cottage there are barbecue facilities, tables and benches for outdoor dining. Amenities are located on site. The large two-storey cottage "Gornitsa" offers accommodation for celebrating events (birthdays, weddings, graduations) or relaxation big company with accommodation for up to 16 people. We rested together from 28 to 29 November. I wanted to be alone and do nothing. The choice fell on one of the boarding houses of the Serpukhov region (on the advice of friends). But to our deep regret there were no vacant places .. Quite by accident we went to the recreation center "Solnechnaya na Oka". After consulting with the manager, we decided not to look for a crane in the sky ... As soon as we entered the territory of the recreation center, we realized what we needed !!! Chic, the most picturesque place!!! the silence is such that it clogs the ears. The hotel is very clean and comfortable .. It is immediately noticeable that there are many children among the visitors of the base. Toys, children's rooms .. An atmosphere of comfort and peace. Very helpful staff. And in the hotel itself and in the cafe on the territory. In general, we are very glad that there were no vacant places in that boarding house, otherwise we would not have seen what we saw. Yes! And we paid half the price for the same room !! Agree, a pleasant moment. We will recommend this boarding house to our friends, acquaintances and colleagues. Will definitely come back again !!!

At the weekend we rested at the recreation center Solnechnaya on the ocean. Highly a nice place, the base is located on the high bank of the Oka. If you want quiet quiet rest for the soul, then you are here. Rooms are neat, clean, everything you need is there. Minus refrigerator in standard rooms not provided, but if you ask, they will bring it for 200 rubles. Attentive and friendly staff. Liked it, we will come back again !!!

I liked everything, especially the nature and the silence after the city bustle! We plan to come in November if you work !!! The only unimportant entrance where the construction is going on !!! The weather at the end of the rest was a little pumped up and there were more TV channels so that you could lie in front of the TV late in the evening! !!

We rested with our family on 28.04-01.05.12. at the recreation center "Solnechnaya na Oka". There were me, my husband, daughter 3.5 months and my brother - 20 years old. Overall, I liked the rest. The road from Moscow to the base is quite simple, without any particular difficulties. Only the last 2 kilometers turned out to be not a road, but a direction of movement - pits, bumps, sand, concrete ... We drove like on a washboard. The territory of the base is mostly ennobled, it is pleasant to take a walk with views of the Oka. But there are places with the firm stamp of post-Soviet devastation. Accommodation: the main building is a fairly beautiful and well-kept building, a beautiful hall, a reception desk. Friendly staff. Placed in a junior suite with an extra bed and a baby cot. In my opinion, the room corresponds to the category "Standard", but not "junior suite". Small, while we were living, there was no cleaning, the garbage was not taken out. A few days before our arrival in the Moscow region, yellow clouds with birch pollen passed so that it settled on all open surfaces. So, before our arrival, this pollen was already mixed with dust, both on the balcony - railings, on the floor, and on the windowsill in the room. Another disadvantage of the main building is that there is no lift. On the territory they used table tennis, swings, a gazebo with a barbecue for barbecue. There is a separate building with a dining room and a cafe - bar. The quality of the dishes was rated "3+". But the courtesy of the staff ironed out this shortcoming)). In the cafe in the evening, dishes from the menu on individual orders were much tastier. If you need a quiet family vacation, sleep, enjoy the silence, sit by the water and smell the forest and nature - you are at the base "Solnechnaya na Oka". In general, the rest turned out to be a solid "4".
